Lovato, 18, told Robin Roberts she developed emotional scars after enduring vicious taunting from school classmates, who bullied her because she was “too fat.”

The teenager who claims to have been relegated to the back row at a filming of American Idol last week because she was “too big, too heavy” wants a public apology from people at the hit reality show, her father tells RadarOnline.com exclusively.
“I would like to see American Idol give her an open apology,” said Randy Kauffman. “She wants an apology and it should be a live apology, if that’s what it takes.”

Every contestant on VH1’s Celebrity Fit Club has a journey that has brought them to where they are and landed them on the show, and High School Musical star Kaycee Stroh is no different. RadarOnline.com has learned that the bubbly actress has always been typecast as the “chubby girl” and never had the typical “dancers body”, but it was a medical condition she incurred in 2004 that really catapulted her weight gain.

Kaycee underwent routine knee surgery in 2004 but was faced with an unexpected hurdle when she developed a blood clot in her left ankle and was sentenced to three months of bed rest. At only 5’3”, Kaycee had never weighed in at more than 200-pounds but after being sedentary for three months the dancer ended up tipping the scales at 210 pounds.

With the aid of physical therapy Kaycee got back on her feet and landed a role in 2006’s High School Musical. Eventually dropping almost 15-pounds, Kaycee entered the competition at Celebrity Fit Club weighing in at 196 pounds with a body fat percentage of 41 – almost half her body mass.

Despite being one of the most overweight contestants on the show, host Harvey Walden named Kaycee captain of her team on the season opener, noting her leadership and command of respect from her teammates. Kaycee occasionally moonlights as a spokesperson and plus size model for online clothing retailer Torrid; no telling if she’ll keep the gig once she’s done her stint on Fit Club and sheds the pounds.
