The troubled son of the late Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O'Neal was taken to task by Judge Michael Tynan at a progress report hearing Thursday morning. Reading from the progress report Judge Tynan said, " I thought this kid wanted to do something. He isn't working as hard as he can."

However, Raymond May, a representative from Impact where Redmond is in residential treatment, told Judge Tynan that Redmond's lack of participation was because, "He did a massive amount of drugs for years and that stunted his emotional growth, and he is just coming out of that."

Redmond addressed the court and said he has been "sober for 9 months. I have been holding back. I have been adjusting and still dealing with the death of my mother."

Redmond's legal ace attorney Richard Pintal told RadarOnline.com, "The progress report was good. Redmond is doing well, but as Judge Tynan pointed out, he needs to step it up." Redmond O'Neal was visibly upset after the hearing but told RadarOnline.com exclusively, "I'm ok. I'm going to do better."

Judge Tynan ordered Redmond back on Dec 2, and said, "The report better be glowing, or there will be consequences." Pintal says Redmond is committed to his sobriety and took the warning from the judge very seriously.

Redmond O'Neal was given a stern warning in court on Thursday at his progress report hearing, with Judge Michael Tynan telling Redmond that he believed he wasn't working as hard as he can.

But Redmond is working hard and is committed to his recovery, his attorney Richard Pintal tells RadarOnline.com in an exclusive interview outside court.

Pintal says that Redmond has been compliant in all phases of his recovery treatment at residential treatment center Impact, and that his progress report was positive.

Pintal goes on to say that his client is going through an "adjustment period" and that he is still "learning to participate". The loss of his late mother, Farrah Fawcett, is playing a significant role in Redmond's recovery as he is grieving and trying to come to terms with the loss of his beloved mom.

But the good news is that Redmond is "extremely grateful" to be in treatment at Impact and although it's a very trying time he is "committed to his recovery" and has "embraced his recovery".

As RadarOnline.com was the first to report, Farrah Fawcett left nothing to long-time love Ryan O'Neal according to her will. On Tuesday, the actor publicly responded to the news, saying he is "perfectly happy" with the outcome.

"Farrah's and my relationship was based on a deep love and respect for one another and for our son Redmond," O'Neal said in a statement.

"After discussing how her financial affairs would be handled in the event of he passing, we agreed that our son Redmond would be the primary beneficiary of her estate. These were Farrah's wishes and I am perfectly happy with them."

Redmond was left $4.5 million and $100,000 to her ex-lover Gregory Lawrence Lott. She also gave $500,000 each to both her nephew Gregory Walls and her father James Fawcett.

Redmond O'Neal --the troubled son of actor Ryan O'Neal and the late Farrah Fawcett - will be released from jail and will be sent to rehab to continue his treatment for drug addiction, RadarOnline.com can report.

That announcement was made Friday morning after O'Neal,24, appeared in a courtroom in Santa Clarita, California and pleaded no contest to possession of a controlled substance.

O'Neal could have faced four years into state prison, but under a deal, he must complete one year in treatment at residential rehab at Impact in Pasadena, CA. He was also placed on three years probation, and  if he violates probation, he goes to state prison for six years.

O'Neal won't be released to Impact until Commissioner Godfrey at the Airport Court signs off on him being transferred to Impact in Pasadena, CA. Redmond will be in front her Thursday, September 24. It's expected she will sign off on it.

The Charlie's Angels star, who was buried in a private ceremony at Westwood Village Memorial Park in Los Angeles, California on June 30, has a simple yet elegant granite headstone with just her name spelled out in big letters across the front. The grave is surrounded by a peaceful garden of roses, and vines and other flowers, with a stone bench for visitors.

Legendary producer Merv Griffin is buried next to her.

Ryan O'Neal has fired William Slattery, the attorney who has represented Redmond O'Neal for years, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.

Slattery had helped Redmond, 24,through multiple legal problems stemming from drug offenses. Redmond's relationship with Ryan has been rocky at best.

A source close to Redmond told RadarOnline.com, "This came completely out of left field. Slattery was steadfast about protecting Redmond.

Ryan O'Neal, less than a month removed from the death of longtime love, Farrah Fawcett, told The Today Show Tuesday that he's gradually adapting to life without Fawcett, and keeping his strength for his convicted son, Redmond.

He recalled holding the phone to Fawcett's ear so she could communicate with her son one last time, hoping it would make a positive impression on the troubled 24-year-old.

My Journey with Farrah: A Story of Life, Love, and Friendship is a chronicle written by Fawcett's close pal, Alana Stewart, about the actress’ brave fight.

“Farrah had originally encouraged me to write this book -- it was her idea,” Stewart said. “My hope is that people will find this book to be a heartfelt tribute to my friend of thirty years and her valiant fight against cancer.”
