UPDATE: The panic is over for Jimmy Kimmel. He is now "unevacuated," he Tweeted two hours ago:

"We are back, officially 'unevacuated'. Thanks for your kind words. It was scary. Best wishes to our friends in Japan and all affected.

"Again, thanks for the prayers, kind words, and concern. I feel a little bit like Tom Sawyer watching his own funeral."

And bringing back a sense of humor to the devastating situation, he answered a follower's question to "real scary or rich people scary?"

Linda Blair may have played a demon-possessed little girl, but in reality The Exorcist star is a volunteering angel whose World Heart dog sanctuary is currently under threat by the fires raging through the Los Angeles hills.

"The last 24 hours have been incredibly scary and we are no where near being out of the woods. We have been informed that the containment dates for this fire, at this time, are going past Labor Day. This means we’ve got a ways to go before we aren’t on edge any more," Blair wrote on World Heart's website.

The city of Acton- where the sanctuary is located- has been on of the hardest hit areas. Blair is requesting for any donations, crates, and willing volunteers who can help evacuate the animals if need be.

"In terms of the evacuation itself - we are on pins and needles waiting for the word. Our biggest fear is getting the orders in the middle of the night when everyone is asleep. If you are willing to help load dogs in crates and transport to our evacuation spot and don’t mind getting called in the middle of the night please let us know.
