Actor Jeremy Piven, victorious in a lawsuit last week against the producers of David Mamet's Broadway show, Speed the Plow, told David Letterman on Tuesday night that upon being diagnosed with Mercury poisoning from eating sushi, he had "brought the test results to the company, to the Speed the Plow people.”
“I told them what was going on with me; they knew what was happening," Piven said, adding more details about the sickness that caused him to leave the production.
The Entourage star said doctors told him: "'You've got elevated levels of mercury we've never seen before, basically almost a 60. We should not have anything above a 3,'" adding he was also stricken with "Epstein-Barr, which is, you know, Mono. There were so many different variables that were contributing to my situation."
Back to his joking ways, Piven, a Chicago native, said the Mercury poisoning "sounds like a rich man's disease; [It] sounds like something you might get from the leather seats in your Lamborghini, like a rash, like a rash that hurts."
He expressed regret over not being able to finish the show.
"At a certain point, you're brought to your knees and you realize, 'I gotta find balance.' It happened to me, I'm so sorry that it happened because I wanted to continue the [Broadway] run," Piven said. "It was the time of my life."

Entourage star Jeremy Piven can breathe a huge sigh of relief. He's off the hook for the breach of contract law suit that was brought against Him last December by the producers of Broadway play Speed The Plow.
A professional arbitrator ruled in Piven's favor on Thursday in New York, and the actor says in a statement that he's pleased with the outcome and feels he's been vindicated.
Piven pulled out of the play after a short run claiming mercury Poisoning from eating too much sushi, sparking a media onslaught, many jokes and legal woes.

Entourage premiered Sunday night to waiting fans, but this past year has been anything but pleasant for the show’s star Jeremy Piven.
Following a controversial bout with mercury poisoning, Piven dropped out of his Broadway show Speed the Plow, sparking a media onslaught and legal trouble with the play’s producers.
But in an exclusive interview with RadarOnline.com, Piven’s co-star, Rex Lee, says he thinks his pal got a bad wrap.

We can’t wait for the new season of Entourage, which kicks off this Sunday at a new time slot – 10:30pm – so stock up on those snacks now.
When we last saw Vince (Adrian Grenier) and the gang, he had jump-started his career with a starring role in a Martin Scorsese film. Cut to months later when the film is finished and about to premiere and Vince is back on top.
On the Entourage season 6 premiere, Vince is preparing for two stressful events, his driving test and, an appearance on the Jay Leno show to promote “Gatsby,” his new movie. Meanwhile, his hard-working manager, Eric (Kevin Connolly) is thinking of moving into his own house, but worries about the effect this will have on the rest of the gang. Boys! Grow up and get your own lives (but then we wouldn’t have a show would we?)

Entourage ,now in its sixth season, will premiere its 12-episode run on July 12, with several surprise guest stars.
Rumored to appear are Lil' Wayne, Tom Brady, LeBron James, Andrew Bynum, Steve Nash, 50 Cent, and, High School Musical hunk Zac Efron.
While sources won’t say what role the rapper will play, 50 Cent is not the first rap artist play himself in the HBO hit. Kanye West, T.I. and Snoop Dogg have all played roles with stars Vincent Chase (Adrian Grenier) and entourage Eric (Kevin Connolly), Drama (Kevin Dillon) and Turtle (Jerry Ferrara).

Well hello boys! After what seems like it’s been an eternity, our favorite Entourage is back! And it seems my prayers have been answered that this season is more about the guys and less about Ari! Relationships seem to play a big role this time around with Eric (Kevin Connolly) and Sloan (Emmanuelle Chriqui) still playing the on-again- off-again game. Life is still imitating art as Turtle (Jerry Ferrara) continues his adorable relationship with on AND off-screen girlfriend, Jamie-Lynn Sigler. Vinnie’s career is back on top after filming his successful new Martin Scorsese version of Gatsby, but with all the guys busy cuddling with their hunnies, Vince must stave off the loneliness of hanging solo in his big new mansion by plowing through a different girl every night! And poor Drama still can’t get a girl! BTW… rumors of this season’s celeb appearances are already surfacing. Word is we’ll be seeing by Tom Brady, 50 Cent, LeBron James and Zac Efron! Woo hoo! Let the games begin!
