Hollywood may eschew the notion, but guess what? Ladies need to let loose, too. In Whip It, Drew Barrymore makes her directorial debut with a teenage girl’s coming-of-age story that blends the bad-ass culture of roller derby with the tenderness of a comedic family drama. Barrymore also appears as a derby skater named Smashley Simpson, but her sensibility is more apparent in the film’s overall feel: uneven in its pacing and occasionally arm’s length from an emotional coup -- but at times perfect, with scenes that are both hilarious and poignant.

Drew and friends rocked the red carpet of Grauman's Chinese Theatre last night, getting everyone in the roller derby spirit!

Drew Barrymore Gets Her Skates On

If you’re a Drew Barrymore fan and in the Detroit area September 11, there’s only one place to be – but only if you can roller skate!
Drew produced, directed and stars in Whip It, a film about the crazy world of women’s roller derby, and many of the scenes were shot in Michigan.
To promote the opening, Drew decided to host a first-ever skating premiere. It will be at the Bonaventure Skating Center in Farmington Hills, and her costars Ellen Page and Juliette Lewis will be on hand.
Drew is staying tight-lipped about whether boyfriend Justin Long will be there. “We’re friends, and we love each other, she recently said of their on-off-on romance.”

Leonardo DiCaprio returned to work on the Paris set of his upcoming film, Inception, after the single Titanic star enjoyed a short summer break in Spanish party town Ibiza.

The film, directed by Christopher Nolan and co-starring Ellen Page and Marion Cotillard, is the story of a high-profile businessman entrenched in a blackmailing scandal.
Inception hits theatres July 16, 2010.

FOX steals the show with a slew of celebrity voice cameos, and story lines that pay homage to some of our fav shows! On the Simpsons’ episode called ''Waverly Hills 9-0-2-1-D'Oh,'' Homie moves into a dumpy apartment so Bart and Lisa can attend the swanky Waverly Hills Elementary School. When Lisa has trouble fitting in, Bart starts a rumor the she’s BFF’s with pop superstar Alaska Nebraska, voiced by Juno teen queen, Ellen Page. Then Family Guy goes all “The Hills” on us when Brian gets wasted after hearing about Jillian’s engagement (Drew Barrymore), and winds up hooking up with Lauren Conrad! Hills gal pal, Audrina Patridge also lends her voice, as does Jay Leno, Jimmy Fallon and Craig Ferguson.
If you missed last week’s Celebrity Apprentice with Melissa Rivers having a full-fledged, f-bomb dropping meltdown, watch it online and then watch tonight’s episode! Holy cow, so much drama!! For a few weeks things have been U-G-L-Y between the mother/daughter team of Melissa and Joan Rivers and poker champ Annie Duke (I believe Melissa coined a new phrase to describe Annie with “Pit Viper Whore”) and tonight it’s guaranteed to get even wilder as The Donald must select the final 2 contestants ! Oh please let it be Annie and Joan! Pleeease!
