Reality star Kristin Cavallari was the latest casualty on Dancing with the Stars Tuesday night, despite scoring her personal best of 24 points on Monday while her former fiancé, Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, watched from the studio audience.
"I'm a little surprised, to be honest," Cavallari said after she was ousted from the ABC hit. "But I've had such a great time and it's been an awesome experience, so it is what it is."

Despite getting his highest scores on Monday, the ex-Laker (whose pro partner was Cheryl Burke) accepted defeat with a smile.

The nation lost its favorite singing teddy bear Wednesday night when Michael "Big Mike" Lynche was voted off from American Idol - leaving only three contestants left.
Of course, standing atop the chopping block wasn't anything new for the R&B crooner. A few weeks back, Lynche was supposed to be voted off the show but the judges- who loved his melodic voice as well as his story (Lynche recently became a father) saved him from elimination.

The songs of Frank Sinatra didn't bode well for American Idol contestant Aaron Kelly who was eliminated from the show Wednesday night.
After his mediocre rendition of Fly Me to the Moon on Tuesday’s performance show, the youngest member in the competition was ousted in a quiet and bittersweet goodbye. There were no tears, as with past Idol eliminations, but a simple farewell to a young performer who needed just a bit more time to grow.

American Idol's Wednesday show failed to surprise, with a teary-eyed Lacey Brown, the contestant everyone pegged to be going home, getting the boot.

First up the first awkward moment of the night. Simon calls Ryan out about him "aggressively" confronting him last night. Simon tells him to never do it again. This segues into Ryan asking Simon to explain the judges' save rule, which he goes on to do, saying that basically the judges save has been reprived and that if all 4 judges agree the judges can save someone from elimination all the way to the top 5. However, they can only save someone one time. Needless to say, it doesn't happen this week.

Regardless of what the judges think, America was in control on Thursday night as contestants were voted off on the results show. There were some surprises, including early favorite Haeyley Vaughn getting an early exit.

After a typically enthusiastic yet hokey group number to start the show (this time it was the Black Eyed Peas tune I Got A Feeling), the eliminations began. The men were up first: Tim Urban, huggable and electric Michael Lynche, and guitar-wielding heartthrob Casey James were early saves. Then, the spotlight turned to John Park and Todrick Hall. Randy Jackson said both “lost the plot” since the competition began, failing to show off the personalities that got them to the show. Park’s rendition of John Mayer’s Gravity was not enough to save him and he was the first contestant to go. Despite the letdown, he was upbeat and sang his heart out during his farewell.

Lee Dewyze (who got a surprising thumbs up from Simon Cowell), Aaron Kelly (who had a rough week), and Alex Lambert also got reprieves leaving Jermaine Sellers and Andrew Garcia. Unfortunately for outspoken Sellers, his votes fell short and he was sent home.

Before the women could hit the chopping block, former Idol contestant Danny Gokey performed, providing a short break from the drama.

But alas, two women would eventually have to go. The back row of women went first: Lilly Scott, Paige Miles, Katelyn Epperly and Didi Benami were all safe, with Michelle Delamor going home. Last but not least, the first row was up last: Haeley Vaughn, Lacey Brown, Siobhan Magnus, Crystal Bowersox, Katie Stevens. The teenage Vaughn, an early favorite, sadly ended the show with a (pretty off-key but heartfelt) swan song.

The tension was thick on Thursday night as the very first elimination round of American Idol Season 9 sent four contestants packing: Janelle Wheeler, Tyler Grady, Ashley Rodriguez and Joe Munoz.

The elimination wasn’t a complete shock—except for maybe Ashley Rodriguez, who was billed as a frontrunner. But for Rodriguez and Wheeler, the judges felt they picked songs that were too big for them, and it looks like America agreed.
