Kevin Durant, the NBA's 2010 scoring king -- and the youngest player in this Associations’ history to do it -- will be the cover athlete for NBA Elite 11.

“I’ve always been a fan of EA Sports,” Durant said. “This has been an exciting year for me and the team, and capping it off with being on the cover of NBA ELITE 11 is cool.”

Durant -- who Rolling Stone magazine dubbed the league's second-best player (behind LeBron James and in front of Bryant) -- earned the honor for his amazing season, which saw him take his team, the Oklahoma City Thunder, to 50 regular season wins and two playoff victories over the eventual champion Los Angeles Lakers. He'll be keeping his skills sharp playing in the 2010 FIBA World Championships this summer in Turkey.

Who Are YOU on Sims?

“Durant is a game changer,” EA Sports Jordan Edelstein said. “There has never been a player his size with his skill set, and there has never before been a basketball videogame like NBA Elite. Just like we see Durant as the future of the NBA, NBA Elite 11 represents the future of basketball videogames by providing a gameplay experience you simply won’t find anywhere else on the market.”

FIFA Interactive World Cup 2010 Finale Set To Kick Off In Spain

That gameplay is the use of Hands-On Control, an innovative new control scheme that allows for one-to-one responsiveness of a player’s movement and actions on the court, as opposed to predetermined animations from the past that require users to wait while a scenario played out before making the next move. Hands-On Control is unique to NBA Elite 11, and used to manage everything within a player’s offensive and defensive arsenal, including dribble moves, dunks, drives to the basket, fadeaways, mid-air adjustments, blocks, steals and more.

HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE:

OK, so you're shopping for that special tween girl, and tired of spending money on all those trendy Twilight chotchkies they will get over quicker than you can say High School Musical. That's where EA comes in with a pair of new titles -- Charm Girls Club and Littlest Pet Shop Friends -- that will surely have your tween smiling from ear-to-ear when they unwrap them this holiday season.

Charm Girls Club is a great interactive game that lets girls pick a character, customize it to their liking and compete for virtual charms through a gauntlet of malls, fashion, proms, pillow fights, hair teasing and the like; think Club Penguin, but a few years older.

Then there's Littlest Pet Shop Friends, a video game adaptation of the No. 1 mini-doll brand in North America whose digital collection, released a year ago, has sold more than 2 million copies worldwide, and for good reason: the game has customizable characters (the Great Dane, the Peacock, the Messy Cat, the Beaver), special missions and more surprises that will have your precious one captivated for hours.

Both games are available on Nintendo’s DSS and Wii consoles; for more info, check out charmgirlsclub.com and littlestpetshopfriends.com
