It may have finished # 1 at the box office but with just $48.3 million in ticket sales over the five-day Christmas weekend, that figure is a major disappointment for Little Fockers, a film that cost $100 million to make. Ben Stiller, Dustin Hoffman, Robert DeNiro, Barbra Streisand, Owen Wilson -- all those big stars with big salaries couldn't buy the love.

Some Of Hollywood's biggest names were on hand at the Staples Center for the Los Angeles Lakers' 83-79 home win over Boston Celtics to seal the NBA Championship Thursday night.
One highlight of the evening: Lakers superfan Jack Nicholson - with his usual court-side seat - definitely got a bird’s eye view of the action when Celtics forward Kevin Garnett careened into him during the second quarter. Garnett patted the Batman star on the shoulder after the collision, as Nicholson laughed it off.

Adapted from a novel by Nicholas Sparks -- also known as the man who brought us The Notebook and A Walk to Remember -- Dear John follows the trials and tribulations of a couple that keeps a long-distance romance alive through letters and imagination. While Channing’s character is off at war, his mellifluous lady of choice has some big choices to make of her own, and her decision impacts them both amid painful loss. Death, doom and yes, even cannibalism are in the depressing mix in this film about post-apocalyptic survival as only novelist Cormac McCarthy could imagine. Viggo Mortensen appropriately stars as a father who travels a ravaged America with his wife and young son, doing his best to keep them all alive and savoring each moment that his son’s heart is still beating. Of course, there are only two outcomes possible -- and in this landscape drawn in heart-chilling greys and dingy yellows, neither one is very appealing. Two-time Oscar winner Dustin Hoffman is doing his first TV pilot since 1967. In the HBO pilot called Luck, he plays a paroled ex-con. The pilot also attracted fellow film stars Nick Nolte and Dennis Farina.
Twilight Surprise Cast Change
Angelina Jolie’s dad, Jon Voight has appeared in the Fox hit 24 and now is starring in a new pilot called Midland. The story is about an oilman, played by Voight, and another man who lives a double life, going back and forth between Midland and Houston.

Oscar-winner Forest Whitaker is headlining in a Criminal Minds spin off with Brian Dennehy. Everyone’s favorite wacky movie dad, Eugene Levy, stars in Hitched, a comedy pilot for CBS. And Eugene’s son in the American Pie movies is coming to TV as well. Jason Biggs stars in a CBS comedy called True Love.

Kathy Bates is set to star in her first regular TV role. The Oscar-winner plays a cranky former patent lawyer who has a group of misfit associates. And it shouldn’t surprise anyone one that this NBC legal drama called Kindreds is coming from the mind of David E. Kelly. Brittany Snow plays Kathy’s assistant.
