Mancow asked Peterson about his love life behind bars. Peterson -- laughing -- said: "I've got alot of buddies who are anxious to wash my back in the showers."
He also the guards were treating him well and called them "professional."
For one moment, the interview turned serious when Peterson talked about being kept in isolation . He called it "lonely" and said he does gets to watch television and read a book every now and then, but that's it.
The serious moment proved fleeting as Mancow said that Peterson's attorneys said that he would be doing a comedy routine for them. Peterson then lauched into a series of so-called jokes.
When Mancow asked how he could be joking, Peterson said he uses humor to deal with being in jail. He also said he reads the Bible and prays all the time.
Peterson is being held on a $20 million dollar bail. In addition to being charged with first degree murder, he is also considered a suspect in the disappearance of his fourth wife Stacy, who vanished in 2007.

No Bail Reduction for Drew Peterson

Assistant D.A. John Connelly successfully argued in an Illinois court today that accused killer Drew Peterson’s $20 million bail should not be reduced, AP is reporting.
The decision means that the ex-cop will remain behind bars while the case against him in the death of his third wife, Kathleen Savio, proceeds.
ADA Connelly also revealed that he would be presenting evidence that Peterson had offered a would-be hit man $25,000 to kill Savio.
She was found dead in the bath tub in the couple’s Chicago-area home in 2004.
Her death was ruled a suicide at the time but following the disappearance of Peterson’s fourth wife, Stacy, in 2007, her remains were exhumed for a new autopsy.
The results of that forensic examination changed the cause of death to “homicide” and led to the eventual murder charges against her spouse.
Stacy Peterson is still missing but skeletal remains found in a barrel found in a nearby are being examined.
“I know he killed Stacy,” Drew’s stepbrother Thomas Morphey told Good Morning America.

A new judge was today appointed in the Drew Peterson murder case.
Will County Chief Judge Gerald Kinney let prosecutors replace the existing judge because the defense had not established a pattern of abuse by the state of its right to replace judges.
“I do not find that this has been established by the defense’s response,” Kinney said at a hearing at Will County courthouse.
Prosecutors had filed a motion to replace Judge Richard Schoenstedt claiming that he was prejudiced against the state. Kinney assigned the case to Judge Carla Alessio Policandriotes – to which Peterson’s lawyer Joel Brodsky protested before finally accepting the decision. A hearing with the new judge is now scheduled for Friday, May 22, 2009, at 1pm.
Peterson is in jail for the 2004 death of his previous wife, Kathleen Savio, the former policeman has pled not guilty. Authorities are planning to carry-out DNA testing on an unidentified female body which they believe may be Peterson’s fourth wife Stacy Peterson who has been missing for the past two years.
