After three weeks of explosive testimony from the prosecution, the defense in the John Edwards' campaign finance fraud trial took the stand and switched the focus from the shamed senator’s sex life to monetary issues.

On Monday, Edwards' campaign chief financial officer took the stand to testify that Federal Election Commission auditors decided that the hush money he received from wealthy donors to cover up a torrid affair with Rielle Hunter did not need to be reported in the campaign's financial disclosure reports, according to ABCNews.com.

By Debbie Emery - Radar Reporter

Following a two-day delay because his attorney fell ill, the murder trial of lacrosse murder suspect George Huguely V resumed on Saturday with some hard words for the defense from the judge.

The trial was only expected to last two weeks, but now entering its 11th day and in session on a weekend, tensions were high as Prosecutor David Chapman made a motion to the judge to exclude the defense's upcoming medical witnesses from testifying because e-mails had violated the rule of law that prohibits witnesses from having any knowledge of previous testimony in the trial, reported WTVR.com.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, the 24-year-old University of Virginia athlete is standing trial in the Charlottesville Circuit Courthouse charged with first degree murder in connection with the May 2010 death of ex-girlfriend, Yeardley Love, 22, who he allegedly beat to death after finding out she had slept with another man.

Petit Family Murder Suspect’s Earliest Memories Are Sexual Abuse And Cigarette Burns

Posted on Oct 06, 2011 @ 01:30PM - 9 comments

By Radar Staff

The testimony in the Petit Family murder trial was as grisly as ever on Thursday but this time the acts of torture and sex abuse had been inflicted on triple murder suspect Joshua Komisarjevsky, not by him, RadarOnline.com has learned.

When the defense took the stand for their second day in the New Haven, Connecticut courtroom, the testimony was again from New York University  psychologist Dr. Leo Shea, who told jurors how as a 14-year-old the accused killer had carved the word "hate" on his arm because he found self-mutilation "soothing," reported the Hartford Courant.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Komisarjevsky is the second suspect to stand trial in Connecticut's most horrific murder and has been on trial since September 19, charged with 17 counts including murder, abduction and assault in the triple homicide of a mother and her two children, and the beating of their father.

During Tuesday’s testimony, Casey’s defense attorney argued in an Orlando, Fl. courtroom on  that crime scene evidence had been tampered with.

Anthony’s attorney, Jose Baez, suggested that Orange County Sheriff’s Office CSI tech Geraldo Bloise dried out garbage found in the trunk of Anthony’s car, altering its state and creating a foul odor — an odor which Prosecutors contend was caused by a decomposing body.

According to sources close to the investigation, Dr. David Adams, a Las Vegas doctor admitted to the LAPD that he had given Michael Jackson Propofol, prior to Dr. Murray becoming the King of Pop's doctor.

The insider tells RadarOnline.com that Ed Chernoff, Dr. Murray's lawyer, plans on calling Dr. Adams when the case goes to trial. "Dr. Adams is clearly relevant, you have a last doctor standing with Dr. Murray, and he wasn't the first person to give Michael Jackson Propofol," the source says.

The defense team also knows that Michael Jackson received Propofol while he was in Germany and Dubai, but the lawyers don't have the names of the administering doctors yet, because they haven't received full discovery from the Los Angeles District Attorney's office, according to the source. Once those names become available, "Those doctors would most likely be called to testify for Dr. Murray's defense," the insider reveals.

Calls to Dr. Adams attorney weren't immediately returned. Dr. Murray will be in court on April 5th, at which time a date is supposed to be set for his preliminary hearing, but his lawyers still haven't received the entire discovery that prosecutors have, so it's unlikely that a date will be agreed upon at that time.
