Dr. Conrad Murray Hoping To Be Home For Christmas

Dr. Conrad Murray could be released on house arrest by Christmas, to serve the remainder of his jail sentence for his role in the death of Michael Jackson, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

Judge Michael Pastor imposed the maximum allowed sentence -- four years in jail -- on Jackson's former doctor on Tuesday, and because of overcrowding in California correctional facilities, Murray wasn't sent to state prison, but to Los Angeles County Jail. The cardiologist's sentence was automatically cut in half, and Murray is eligible for house arrest because he is considered a non-violent felon.

"Dr. Murray's lawyers are actually relieved that Judge Pastor didn't sentence him to community service, they didn't want him doing manual labor at the morgue, like Lindsay Lohan is doing. That would have been an absolute nightmare for him, as he would certainly be mocked, and it wouldn't have been safe for him to be picking up trash on the freeway or cleaning up graffiti,” a source close to the situation tells RadarOnline.com.

The prosecutors who tried Dr. Conrad Murray for the death of pop icon Michael Jackson said Wednesday they are OK if the disgraced cardiologist serves less than the four years given to him because of prison overcrowding.

Deputy district attorneys David Walgren and Deborah Brazil appeared on the Today Show Wednesday and indicated that, no matter how much time Murray spends behind bars, Judge Michael Pastor made his point by giving him the maximum sentence.

"He (the judge) had sat through the trial, had heard all of the evidence, he was one of the most informed people in regards to the facts of the case, and I think being aware of all the facts and all the evidence, he was rightfully offended by the actions of Conrad Murray and was expressing that," Walgren said.

In it, Panish said: "We are not here to seek revenge. There is nothing you can do here today to bring Michael back. But we will keep the love in our hearts that Michael embodied throughout his life. His passion was for unifying the world through the gift of his artistry.

By Jen Heger - Radar Legal Editor

Michael Jackson's oldest two children, Prince and Paris were "extremely pleased and relieved" that Dr. Conrad Murray was found guilty of killing their father, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

Murray was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter for the death of Michael Jackson on June 25, 2009. Jackson died from acute propofol intoxication.

As soon as the verdict was read in court, Katherine Jackson met privately with Deputy District Attorney David Walgren, and "broke down in tears as she thanked him for bringing Michael's children justice. It was very emotional. Walgren had hammered home the point to the jury that Michael's three children didn't have a father because of Conrad Murray. Katherine gave the DA one final hug before leaving and said, 'Now I can go home and tell the children that he has been found guilty.’ Katherine doesn't like to say Murray's name," a Jackson family insider tells RadarOnline.com.

Dr. Conrad Murray has a better chance of being struck by lightening, than getting probation for killing Michael Jackson, according to a source, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

Reports circulated yesterday that Conrad Murray's lawyers were going to ask Judge Michael Pastor to sentence Murray to probation at the convicted felon's sentencing hearing on November 29, 2011 for killing Michael Jackson.

The King of Pop died on June 25, 2009 from acute Propfol intoxication.

"Conrad Murray's lawyers can ask that their client be given probation, but he has a better chance of being struck by lightening than the judge granting their request,” a source close to the situation tells RadarOnline.com. “The fact that Judge Pastor remanded Murray into custody immediately following his conviction, well, that was clearly a sign to the defense that Judge Pastor will most likely impose the full four year prison sentence to the convicted killer.”

DA Likely To Request Immediate Remand If Conrad Murray Found Guilty

By Jen Heger - Radar Legal Editor

If Dr. Conrad Murray is convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the Michael Jackson death trial, it's very likely that Deputy District Attorney David Walgren will ask Judge Michael Pastor to remand the cardiologist into custody pending sentencing, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

"If the jury returns with a guilty verdict, Walgren will almost certainly ask Judge Michael Pastor, to remand Dr. Murray into custody pending sentencing," a law enforcement source tells RadarOnline.com exclusively.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported , during final arguments, the DA blasted the defense's star witness, Dr. Paul White. Mincing no words, he said, "What Dr. White presented was garbage science. It's junk science, and it was disappointing that he came in here said the things he did." Walgren took issue with Dr. White's changing theories throughout the case about how Michael Jackson died.
