“Cy Waits has been separated from the company and is free to pursue other interests,” the Wynn Resort said in a statement.

His arrest on Friday night occurred after a police officer noticed a “strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle,” and pulled his Escalade over.  Paris was a passenger in the car and was arrested for possession of a controlled substance after a police officer reported “I saw a small bindle of what I believed to be cocaine in a clear baggy begin to fall from [her] purse and into my hand.”

Paris was released by the Las Vegas police after a few hours on her own recognizance but her legal troubles are larger than Paris initially thought.  RadarOnline.com exclusively learned that the District Attorney David Roger is highly unlikely to offer the heiress a plea bargain deal.

“Roger won't tolerate celebrities coming to Las Vegas and thinking they can get away with illegal behavior,” a source close to the case told RadarOnline.com.

“It's going to be extremely difficult for Paris to get out of these charges, even with the brilliant legal skills of her lawyer, David Chesnoff.”

We guess Cy is going to be waiting in the unemployment line now.

Paris Hilton is about to discover what O.J. Simpson already knows: when it comes to justice, Las Vegas can be a lot tougher than Los Angeles.

District Attorney David Roger is highly unlikely to offer Paris a plea bargain deal on her cocaine possession charge, a source close to the case told RadarOnline.com exclusively.

The veteran Clark County, Nevada prosecutor put Simpson behind bars on robbery charges after the former football great beat murder charges in Los Angeles.

“Roger won't tolerate celebrities coming to Las Vegas and thinking they can get away with illegal behavior,” the source close to the case told RadarOnline.com.

“It's going to be extremely difficult for Paris to get out of these charges, even with the brilliant legal skills of her lawyer, David Chesnoff.”

Hilton is facing a felony drug possession charge that carries a prison sentence of one to four years. She claimed the purse she was carrying, where the cocaine was found, did not belong to her.

Roger is running for reelection and has a record of high-profile victories in the legal arena.

“This is a high profile case, right before a very important election, and it's very likely that there will be no plea bargaining down of these charges," said the source.

According to an arrest report obtained by RadarOnline.com, Hilton, 29, told cops she didn’t own the purse in which 0.8 grams of cocaine was found, but admitted she owned other items that were in the purse.

She reportedly told a Las Vegas police lieutenant that she had borrowed the purse from a friend, but acknowledged owning money, credit cards and a broken tablet of the prescription drug Albuterol that was also found in the bag.

The man who arrested Hilton, Lt. Dennis Flynn, said a small plastic "bindle" of the drug fell out of her purse when she reached for a tube of lip balm.

Hilton is taking the charges "very seriously,” said a source close to the socialite.

“Paris has been advised to lay low,” said the friend.

“Paris is 100 per cent adamant that the cocaine found in the purse, wasn’t hers.

“She says she borrowed the handbag from a girlfriend because the handbag she was going to use for the night didn't match her outfit.”

Hilton's boyfriend, 34-year-old Las Vegas nightclub mogul Cy Waits, was also arrested.

Police say Waits failed field sobriety tests after he was stopped while driving the black Cadillac Escalade from which a police motorcycle officer reported smelling marijuana smoke.

The Vegas bust was the third encounter in three months with law enforcement for Hilton.

As RadarOnline.com was the first to report, Paris was not arrested in the car with her boyfriend Cy Waits after being pulled over by cops who smelled marijuana.  Instead, Paris was taken into the Wynn's security office where -- as the Las Vegas Metro police put it -- "it was discovered that Ms. Hilton had cocaine in her possession."  Only then was she arrested.

Now RadarOnline.com has confirmed that the entire incident was captured by Wynn's security cameras, and it could be good news for Paris.

A source close to the situation tells us, "the search of Paris and arrest was all captured on tape, which could help her tremendously.  Her lawyer David Chesnoff is going to claim it was an illegal search, in part because she was taken away from the scene to this other location.  Chesnoff will also be able to take apart every single thing that happened during the search and arrest because he'll have the video to work off of.  Furthermore, Paris repeatedly said while she was being detained that the purse wasn't hers.

Chesnoff is going to get the tape and use it to bolster his contention that the search was illegal," the source says.

EXCLUSIVE: "Cops Didn't Follow Procedure" In Paris Hilton Bust, Source Says

Friday night's arrest of Paris Hilton on suspicion of cocaine possession may have been a law-breaker in itself, a source close to the heiress tells RadarOnline.com exclusively.

Friday night's arrest of Paris Hilton on suspicion of cocaine possession may have been a law-breaker in itself, a source close to the heiress tells RadarOnline.com exclusively.

Las Vegas PD officers pulled over a black Cadillac Escalade in front of the Wynn Las Vegas Friday night because they suspected pot was being smoked in the vehicle. The driver was Paris's nightclub mogul boyfriend Cy Waits, who was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.

But Paris was not searched on the scene, the source tells RadarOnline.com exclusively, and that's where the case against Hilton may start to unravel.

PHOTOS: Celebs Who Have Done Jail Time

Paris was taken into the security offices at the Wynn and searched there, the source says. "Cops discovered the cocaine inside the security offices where Paris was taken. Because Paris was taken away from the scene where the car was pulled over, this could potentially be an illegal search of a person.

"Las Vegas Metro didn't follow standard procedures when Paris was arrested and her lawyer will be talking to the D.A. about this."

Paris is also insisting that the cocaine found in the purse wasn't hers -- because the purse itself wasn't hers!

PHOTOS: Celebs Who Have Perfumes

"Paris says she changed the purse she was carrying at the last minute last night because the one she had didn't coordinate with the rest of her outfit the way she wanted. She says she borrowed a friend's purse because it matched better."

The implication, of course, is that the cocaine belonged to Paris' friend and so she shouldn't be charged for it.

Paris' high-powered Vegas attorney David Chesnoff plans on talking to the Las Vegas D.A. Monday morning and lay out his case, mainly that there is no basis to charge his client because, the amount of cocaine was, "negligible, the purse it was found in wasn't hers, and Paris was illegally searched," the insider says.

Vegas Metro is issuing a press release on the bust later Saturday.
