EXCLUSIVE LAWSUIT DETAILS: Jon Gosselin Raking In Cash For Interviews

Jon Gosselin has been raking in cash for interviews and appearances and TLC knows what he's made and where he's made it from RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.

Read Court Documents

The filing also revealed that the day TLC announced it would focus the show just on Kate  but still give Jon compensation and air time, Jon’s lawyer gave the network one hour to release the dad from exclusivity provisions while continuing to pay him. If they did not agree, Jon’s lawyer said they would publicly object to further filming. The network claims this was “the first time in nearly five years that Defendant Gosselin articulated to TLC that filming the program was detrimental and should be stopped.”

Not only that, the network wants all that money plus damages in a court battle that has the strong possibility of leaving Jon flat broke.

A RadarOnline.com investigation has uncovered shocking facts behind the lawsuit TLC filed against Jon Friday for breach of contract. TLC already knows Jon has been paid for media appearances and every penny will come out in the lawsuit. The paydays are in violation of his contract with the network, which has a clearly defined exclusivity clause.

That contract is valid until February 2010, even though the show is no longer filming. In addition, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively that TLC has an option to renew Jon's contract once it expires, thereby keeping him from doing projects on any other network.

Jon's negative public comments also violate his contact and the network is seeking damages against him and Jon will also be on the hook for TLC's attorney's fees if the network wins in court. TLC is represented by Williams and Connolly, out of Washington D.C. They are widely regarded as one of the top firms in the country and have a reputation for digging up every damaging fact about their opponents.

Jon also has a morals clause in his contract RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively. His boozing and behavior could also be dragged into the lawsuit.

TLC's contract with Jon prohibits him from revealing details from his contract, badmouthing the network, and making money from other outlets.

The exclusivity provision means that if there is going to be any Gosselin TV show it is going to appear on TLC. TLC is asking for damages and injunctive relief. They believe Jon's words and actions have damaged the company.

Sources tell RadarOnline.com TLC is not filing the lawsuit out of revenge or in attempt to get the show back on the air. They simply will not allow Jon to go around bashing them and violating his contract.

TLC is determined to not only find every penny Jon has made in violation of his contract from the media and elsewhere, but they're also digging in to his plans to star in a new TV show called "Divorced Dads Club."

DNP Random Things

David Letterman is near a deal to continue reading Top 10 lists on CBS for another three years. The network is about to re-sign the Emmy-winning talk-show host to continue hosting Late Show until 2011-12, sources said. The agreement will represent a two-year extension on his current contract, which expires in 2010.

The decision to lock Letterman in for a longer period comes as rival NBC makes dramatic changes to its late-night lineup, moving Jay Leno to 10 p.m. in the fall and the naming of Conan O'Brien as the new host of the legendary Tonight Show. During his first week on Tonight, O'Brien beat Letterman in the ratings, though the gap between the shows shrunk as the week progressed.
