Travis Barker Files For Dismissal Of Wrongful Death Suit

A month after settling the lawsuit over the deadly 2008 plane crash that killed four people and injured him and his late friend DJ AM (Adam Goldstein), Travis Barker filed for dismissal of the wrongful death suit against Clay Lacy Aviation.

While the amount of the settlement was undisclosed, in the dismissal papers filed on January 11 in Los Angeles Superior Court, Barker says he "is recovering $10,000 or more in value by this action."
Clay Lacy Aviation is a jet-charter company. Barker had sued for "pain and suffering, psychological and emotional distress and disfigurement and pre-impact fear of death and burning."

On September 19, 2008, Barker and Goldstein were on a private plane after playing a free concert in Columbia, South Carolina, when the plane skidded off the runway, crossed a highway, and crashed after the pilots tried to abort takeoff. The two men were the crash's sole survivors and suffered from third degree burns.
They had also sued Learjet, Global Exec Aviation, Inter Travel & Services, and Goodyear.

The estate of the late Adam Goldstein, AKA DJ AM, are suing Clay Lacy Aviation, the company that chartered the plane that crashed with DJ AM and Travis Barker on board in South Carolina in September 2008.

The estate have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the company claiming "the crash ultimately caused Adam Goldstein's death".

The are also suing Goodyear Tire, Learjet and the estates of the two pilots who were killed in the crash.
DJ AM Told Friends He Suffered Survivors Guilt
The suit claims DJ AM was forced to take various drugs as a direct result of the burns he suffered in the crash, along with the emotional distress the accident caused.
Stars React To DJ AM's Death On Twitter
In an email exclusively obtained by RadarOnline.com Goldstein outlined how he was suffering from depression and "survivor's guilt" following the accident, "Man this is almost too much for me to handle right now," Goldstein wrote."I had no idea how the survivors guilt could have felt. I'm a mess though man. I just hope time will fix this depressed feeling asap. I can't go on being this miserable."

Goldstein's body was discovered at his Manhattan apartment on August 28th. The cause of death was officially ruled accidental overdose by acute intoxication. The Medical Examiner said the cause of death was due to the combined effects of cocaine, oxycodone, hydrocodone (Vicodin), Ativan, Klonopin, Xanax, Benadryl and Levamisole (drug used with cocaine).
