Plus size modeling breakout Myla Dalbesio, appearing on the cover of the new ClaphMagazine, admits she mistakenly thought her road to runway stardom was paved with black olives and pickles -- the foods she loaded up on in attempts to achieve a waif-ish figure that was nearly impossible with her frame.
The one-time Miss Teen Wisconsin told Fashionista.com that she had misconceptions early on in her career that she needed a rail-thin frame for success, setting her up for a brutal eating disorder.
"I tried for a long time to make myself [lose weight] ... I tried throwing up after I ate and that’s awful. That is painful: I would never wish for anyone to do that ever. And then I’d go through weeks where all I ate was black olives or pickles because they have no calories and nothing was happening.
