The Beer League star, often compared to self-destructive comics such as Chris Farley and John Belushi, has missed extended time on the show since mid-December.
On his radio show Thursday, Stern told listeners he wishes Artie well, but hasn't spoken to him, according to Mark'sFriggin.com, a show fan site. Stern said if Artie wants to talk to him, then he'll call him, and that he believes Artie will be able to call him at some point.
