A baby girl who was born with two mouths and wasn't expected to survive infancy is doing well after receiving ground-breaking surgery to cure her rare condition, RadarOnline.com has learned.

Rokaya Mohamed traveled all the way from Egypt to California to be the first patient to undergo the unique surgical process from Dr. William Magee III at the Children's Hospital Los Angeles, reported KABC-TV.com.

The 15-month-old suffers from a rare condition that causes her to have two full mouths - both with an upper and lower jaw - that is a variation of a facial cleft.

Teri Hatcher competed in the Nautica Malibu Triathlon Sunday morning, and RadarOnline.com was there as the Desperate Housewives star raced out of the exceptionally cold Pacific and talked about her fund-raising for ill kids.

"Even though the water was cold, nothing can compare to what little Sophia is going through," Terri Hatcher tells RadarOnline.com. "I came out here today to help bring awareness of this disease. Events like this are one of many ways celebrities can bring awareness for different causes. Anything I can do to help, count me in."

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Hatcher's participation in the Triathlon was to raise money for Children's Hospital Los Angeles, and she was especially taken by the plight of a three-year-old patient, Sophia Rothman, who is suffering from Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis and has also battled blindness.

Terri finished her half mile swim in an impressive 26 minutes. She didn't participate in the run or bike portions of the event.

She did, however, look amazing in her Xterra wetsuit. "I look good don't I?"" she joked.

As Teri came out of the water, she was greeted by Sophia herself who attended the event with her parents.

After the actress caught her breath, she took photos with Sophia and family. "We're so thankful for Teri and her support," Sophia's mom told RadarOnline.com. "Teri helped save our daughter's vision."

Teri Hatcher is competing in the Nautica Malibu Triathlon Sunday, and the Desperate Housewives star is giving it her all to help out a sick little girl named Sophia, RadarOnline.com has learned.

On her Facebook page, Teri posted photos of herself in a striking blue swimsuit. She's wearing a sign that says, "Sophia: This One's For You!"

Sophia, the actress explains, is the daughter of Joel Rothman, who wrote to her about his two-year-old daughter Sophia, a patient at Children's Hospital Los Angeles.  Sophia has Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis and is blind.

Her story touched Teri's heart and she made the little girl the focus of her fund-raising efforts as a Triathlon contestant.

"After checking the water forecast, I now know that when I dive into the 60 degree shoreline at 7 am for a Sunday adrenaline based swim, they'll be one beautiful girl to reach stroke after stroke for.  And that's Sophia."

Hatcher is competing in the swimming race only; she says she's just not in the same shape she was a year ago when she swam, biked and ran.

Sophia's family doesn't care.  She's still a hero to them!
