One day after Larry King announced his retirement from CNN, his mother-in-law is optimistic about his future, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.

In a statement Tuesday, the veteran talk show host announced he was stepping down from his 25-year reign on Larry King Live.

“I talked to the guys here at CNN and I told them I would like to end Larry King Live, the nightly show, this fall and CNN has graciously accepted, giving me more time for my wife and I to get to the kids little league games,” he said.

This comes amid low ratings and family turmoil.
Larry and his wife of 11 years, Shawn, filed for divorce in April after news surfaced that they both had affairs. A few weeks later, the couple, who have two boys-- 10-year-old Cannon and 11-year-old Chance-- reconciled. RadarOnline.com was first to report that during Memorial Day weekend, the 50-year-old suffered from an overdose of prescription drugs at her home in Utah.

Larry King and his wife got a good dress rehearsal Thursday night of what it’s going to be like when their divorce is finalized. And RadarOnline.com has the pictures.

Larry and Shawn King came together Thursday night for the first time since they filed for divorce—it was for their 11-year-old son Chance, who was pitching in a little league game.
They gave each other a big hug and Shawn even gave Larry a playful tug at his nose.

The 76-year-old is often seen at his son’s practices at a ball park in Beverly Hills, so it came as no surprise that he would take the night off of CNN to see the all-important game.

Shawn was wearing a colorful orange sweater and Larry a black leather jacket for LA’s 60 degree temperatures. They walked together to the bleachers and sat about four feet apart.

The couple is claming “irreconcilable differences,” and they are fighting over custody of their children. Their 12-year marriage was rocked with cheating accusations on both sides. This will be the eighth divorce for Larry.

Embattled Larry King has his priorities straight. He took the night off of his CNN TV show to have quality time with his son, RadarOnline.com has confirmed.
