After a day and a half of live video testimony by a distraught Shania Twain the man charged with stalking her entered a surprise guilty plea in Ontario, Canada on Friday.

Giovanni (John) Palumbo told the court he wanted to plead guilty to one charge of criminal harassment and one charge of breach of recognizance for being within 500 yards of Twain at the Juno Awards last March in Toronto, according to the Vancouver Sun.

“He’s devastated that she’s afraid,” his lawyer Gary Barnes said. “He never intended for her to feel that at all…but he realizes that because of his actions, he had that effect on her and that’s why he pled guilty.”

A man who allegedly trespassed several times at Halle Berry’s Hollywood Hills home was formally charged Wednesday with one felony count of stalking.

The man, 27-year-old Richard Franco of Commerce, CA. will be arraigned sometime Wednesday at the Foltz Criminal Justice Center in downtown Los Angeles. At that time, he’s expected to enter a plea to the charge.

Los Angeles police have now identified Halle Berry’s alleged stalker – he’s Richard Anthony Franco, 27, and RadarOnline.com has exclusively obtained the official police booking report.

The man that struck Paris Hilton's boyfriend Cy Waits outside of the Van Nuys, Ca. courthouse Wednesday has been sentenced to 200 days in jail, RadarOnline is reporting.

James Rainford pleaded "no contest" to misdemeanor battery; neither Hilton or Waits were hurt in the attack.

A man obsessed with singer Shania Twain was arrested Sunday night in Toronto during the Canadian Juno Awards for violating conditions to stay away from her, RadarOnline.com has learned.

Dr. Giovanni Palumbo was arrested during the music awards show at the Air Canada Centre on March 27, where Twain was accepting her Canadian Music Hall of Fame induction.
