Celeb Tweets Help Avoid Carmageddon

It seems that all the superstars who warned Angelinos to stay off the roads this weekend had an impact -- the dreaded Carmageddon has failed to materialize.
With 10 miles of the 405 Freeway -- the country's busiest road -- closed for the demolition of the Mulholland Drive overpass, there had been dire warnings about where the 500,000 drivers who use that stretch of road every weekend would turn.

Many celebs have already skipped town or made plans to stay home in an effort to avoid the closing of the 405 for construction and all the congestion that will follow.

It promises to drive motorists in Los Angeles crazy -- yes, “Carmageddon” is coming!
The city of Los Angeles asked Hollywood A-list celebrities to take to their Twitter accounts and warn local residents to stay off one of the city’s busiest freeways, the 405, as it will be closing this weekend for construction.
