Bruni, 43, apparently gave birth at the exclusive La Muette Clinic with her husband, 56-year-old French President Nicolas Sarkozy, at her side. 

However, he left Paris for a meeting with German Chancellor Angela Murkel shortly after the birth, to address the growing European financial crisis.

The First Lady of France, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, put her baby-to-be on display over the weekend, hitting the beaches in the south of France in a little bikini.

The stunning singer, who is 5 1/2 months pregnant with her first child with President Nicolas Sarkozy, looked fabulous in her triangle top bikini.
