Levi Johnston is following in Sarah Palin’s footsteps and running for political office, RadarOnline.com has learned.

New details have emerged about Bristol Palin’s ex-fiance’s television plans, with his new reality television show to be titled Loving Levi: The Road to the Mayor’s Office.

“The docu-soap will follow the ever controversial, headline making, matinee idol handsome, father of one as he embarks on a run for mayor of Wasilla, Alaska,” read a statement, just released.

While the concept might sound like a gimmick, producers insist it is not.

Johnson genuinely believes he can steal the office from current Wasilla Mayor, lawyer Verne E. Rupright -- and promises, if elected, he will serve his full term.

The series will “chronicle a ‘no-holds-barred’ period in Levi’s tumultuous life; co-raising his son Tripp, looking for love, and taking care of business for his fellow Wasillans,” according to the statement.

The project will be produced by production company Stone & Company Entertainment.

Johnston said the show will give viewers an inside look into who he is as a father, a skilled hunter, an avid dirt biker and his journey down the road of small town politics.

But not until he gets his high school diploma. 

Friend Tank Jones will serve as Johnson’s campaign manager and the show will be executive produced by Jon Gosselin’s pal, Canaan Rubin.

Being dumped is tough, but Levi Johnston is not letting it get him down and is “doing well and is upbeat,” a source close to the Alaskan told RadarOnline.com exclusively. 

“They are both giving it space,” the source said.

While Bristol Palin was preparing to end her engagement to Levi because he was fame hungry, RadarOnline.com can reveal, her fiancé was in LA shopping himself around to television executives.

Levi, 19, was spotted at an exclusive party in the Hollywood Hills on Saturday night -- and the father of little Tripp was not with his baby mama Bristol.

He was living the high life at the exclusive party, dressed in all black and surrounded by friends.

“I’m completely happy with him, and I have no complaints and we always have a great time,” Ellen, 23, told Pop On The Pop of her romance with Jon. “Everyone close to me has [met Jon] and everyone’s supportive and totally understanding about everything.”

Shockingly, Ellen says she wasn’t a huge fan of Jon & Kate Plus 8 and rarely watched the show. “I would watch it occasionally if it was on. I wasn’t into it at the time. I was always out.”

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Jon got chummy in Los Angeles with reality show producer Canaan Rubin, but Ellen says a reality show is absolutely out of the question for her. “I would NEVER do [a reality show],” she says. “That is not the direction that I’d ever want my life to go into.”
