Talbert -- known as M-Bone -- was gunned down outside a liquor store in Inglewood, Calif., Sunday night while he sat in his car. Cops have yet to come up with a suspect.

Police investigating the murder of rapper Montae Talbert say it is too early to determine if it was a random crime -- or if he was targeted.

Talbert, known as M Bone of the hip hop outfit Cali Swag District, was shot twice in the head as he sat in a car outside a liquor store in Inglewood, Los Angeles, about 10:30pm on Sunday night.

Early Monday, police would not provide details on how he died, but speculation runs rampant that Talbert was shot and killed in front of a liquor store in L.A.'s Inglewood neighborhood late Sunday.

While police would not confirm that the victim in Inglewood was Talbert -- they're still in the process of notifying the victim's next of kin -- they did talk to us about the incident itself.

Montae Talbert, a.k.a. M Bone from the group Cali Swag District, is dead at the age of 22, RadarOnline.com has confirmed.

At this time, police will not provide details on how he died, but there is speculation that a man who was shot and killed in front of a liquor store in L.A.'s Inglewood neighborhood around 11:30pm Sunday is in fact Talbert.

Authorities say the victim was in one car when someone fired two shots from another car.
