A lawyer for millionaire businessman Tim Blixseth has told RadarOnline.com that his client ‘immediately felt suspicious’ when he took a frantic telephone call from murder suspect Bruce Beresford Redman.

A lawyer for millionaire businessman Tim Blixseth has told RadarOnline.com that his client ‘immediately felt suspicious’ when he took a frantic telephone call from murder suspect Bruce Beresford Redman.

The wealthy entrepreneur even switched the call to speakerphone so that he had some witnesses for when he actually spoke with Beresford Redman.

In court documents obtained by RadarOnline.com, Blixseth gave a statement to United States law enforcement following the murder of Monica Burgos and said that “he had not heard from Beresford (Redman) in a year when he received an email from Beresford on April 7, 2010, indicating that Beresford’s wife was missing.

Blixseth told authorities he asked Beresford (Redman) to call him, which he did at 6:30pm that evening, and said, “I lost my wife.” Blixseth stated “it was if Beresford (Redman) was reading from a script.”

The documents said "Blixseth stated the Beresford (Redman) was very calm and it was as if he had just lost his dog."

And now the Blixseth’s attorney, Michael Flynn, revealed how his client was surprised to get the call from Beresford (Redman) who was only a faint acquaintance of his.

“The reason that he called Tim was because he knew that he owned a resort in Mexico and felt that he might be able to help in with some of his contacts,” Flynn said.

“Tim knows a lot of people in the entertainment industry because he is an accomplished song writer too and he had met (Beresford) Redman about a year before at some Hollywood event.

“When he called him, he was immediately suspicious and put the call through to speakerphone so that three or four other friends could witness the conversation.

“Immediately afterwards, Tim called the FBI because he was anxious about the way (Beresford) Redman spoke and when he told him that his wife had gone missing in Mexico.

“My client has nothing to hide and will fully cooperate with the authorities in any future trial. Bruce Beresford Redman was not a close friend of his or anything like that.”

Beresford Redman was arrested on November 16, 2010 in California - on an extradition order from Mexico - in connection with his wife’s murder in Mexico.

He will remain behind bars until a November 29 hearing - the U.S. Attorney told a judge in the United States District Court it wanted Bruce locked up until he is extradited back to Mexico.

He has been charged in Mexico with the murder of the mother-of-two who was found on April 8, 2010 in a sewer at a luxurious Cancun resort where the couple was staying.

COURT: Survivor Producer Asks Judge For Forensic Expert To Examine Wife's Will

Posted on Aug 03, 2010 @ 12:30PM - 2 comments

A court-ordered forensic expert will examine the authenticity of Monica Beresford-Redman’s last will and testament, RadarOnline.com is reporting.

Bruce Beresford-Redman, the former Survivor Producer who is still wanted in Mexico over the killing his wife, asked a Los Angeles judge on Tuesday to appoint the specialist, amid an ongoing legal fight with his wife’s surviving sisters.

Jeane and Carla Burgos are challenging the validity of the 2008 document, which names Bruce as the executor and gives Bruce's parents an interest in a house Monica owned.

The remainder of her property would go to Bruce, according to the will.

"I have no reason why I would not allow Ms. Hahn (Bruce’s lawyer) to have her expert examine the will,” said Judge Mitchell Beckloff, who set a date of August 6 for the forensic study to be completed.

At the centre of the legal joust is the claim that there are no witnesses to validate Monica signed the document.

The couple’s former nanny, Maria Beatriz Oaxaca, who Bruce fired last month because she refused to support his innocence, is a potential key witness.

But the nanny reportedly says she knows nothing about Monica signing a 2008 will.

"Ms. Oaxaca said that is her signature on the document but that's not the document that she signed,” the Burgos’ attorney, Richard Petty, told court.

Petty has submitted a different will -- from 2004 -- in opposition to Bruce's claim.

In another twist, the court was told Bruce’s legal team is trying to find the couple’s former cook, who is also said to have witnessed Monica sign the document.

Petty also asked the court to appoint a special administrator to oversee the affairs of the estate, specifically, in regards to insurance policies.

"There was discussion that Beresford-Redmans are having trouble paying the mortgage on the Rancho Palos Verdes house and I think there's a need for people to notify life insurance companies of the litigation and make sure mortgage payments are being made,” Petty said.

But the judge said he would only consider such a move if evidence was presented to the court, which it hasn’t, to date.

While an arrest warrant remains active for the television producer, who is accused of beating and strangling Monica to death, Bruce is free to go about his normal business in California.

He plans to fight any extradition plans, while Monica's sisters areconsidering filing a wrongful-death suit.
