The end of 2009 has been a tough one for the Simpson sisters. With Jessica now on the singles market, happily mothered and married younger sister Ashlee has hit a career bump: the CW recently announced they would be killing her character off the show.

According to executive producer Todd Slavkin, Simpson was always set to leave after the twelfth episode. "We felt that once the murder mystery was resolved, the tone of the show was going to shift into a much more fun, romantic, sexy upbeat kind of show, and [her] character would move on," he told Entertainment Weekly. Colin Egglesfield, who plays the alcoholic / aspiring chef Auggie, also got canned.

There are yelps of relief in the Burns home Friday. Unlike poor Jessica Simpson, whose dog Daisy was snatched before her very eyes by a coyote and has not been seen since, Brooke Burns Malti-Poo was reunited with his family.

After putting up signs around Los Angeles offering at $250 reward for her missing dog Max, and enlisting the services of dog finders FindToto Brooke was reunited with Toto after another client who goes to the same dog groomer said she knew someone who had found a dog matching Max’s description. The client put the neighbor in contact with Brooke and the dog was safely returned to the family.
Brooke Burns’ Malti-Poo Goes Missing
Brooke’s rep tells RadarOnline.com, “The person who found the dog was Brooke’s groomer’s client’s neighbor! What are the chances?!
And Brooke tells RadarOnline.com, “I also want to thank Access Hollywood, People, RadarOnline.com, TMZ, Find Toto and everyone else that you know that got the word out! My daughter and I are so happy! Thank you!”
"She also gave the woman who found Max a reward well over $250. And gave special thank you gifts to her groomer, the clients, and all those involved."
Looks like this will be a happy weekend for the Burns family.

Another day, another missing Malti-Poo.
Former Baywatch star Brooke Burns has put up signs around Los Angeles offering a $250 reward for her missing dog, Max. The Malti-Poo has been missing since Saturday.
It looks like there’s a missing Malti-Poo epidemic hitting L.A. Last month, Jessica Simpson’s beloved dog Daisy was snatched before her very eyes by a coyote. Simpson finally called off a massive search for the pup when it became clear the dog wasn’t returning home—at least in once piece.
Let’s hope Max has better luck.
Update: RadarOnline.com has learned that Findtoto have enlisted their help in finding Brooke's dog. So far they have sent alerts out to 5,000 of Brooke's surrounding neighbors.
