Charlie Sheen’s make-your-head-spin media tour has now triggered a fierce denunciation of the star’s claims by one of Hollywood’s top attorneys.
The Two and a Half Men star said on CNN Monday night that he has never hit a woman and described an encounter years ago with Brittany Ashland as a situation where he was trying to restrain her when she attacked him with a small fork.

As he prepares for his crunch court date in Colorado next week hellraiser Charlie Sheen’s former Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss has told RadarOnline.com that she doesn’t believe he’s a violent person.
The Two and a Half Men star splashed-out over $50,000 in call girls being run by Fleiss and testified against her during her 1995 trial.

Fast forward fifteen years and the actor is facing one felony and two misdemeanor charges following his alleged Christmas Day assault on his troubled wife Brooke Mueller.
RadarOnline.com has learned that with a plea bargain unlikely Sheen’s defense will be that the assault never actually took place.
Fleiss told RadarOnline.com: “Look, I wasn’t happy that Charlie testified against me but that came about after the FBI found his traveler’s checks inside my purse.

“The truth is all my girls loved Charlie and I never heard any stories of him being violent towards them – several of them wanted to marry him actually.
“He is a very charismatic guy and people love him – that’s why he is one of the highest paid actors on television.
“I heard some stories of him losing his temper when girls would not leave his house in the past but that’s about it.

“I don’t know the status of his relationship with his current wife but if drugs were involved that could have really changed things.
“The Charlie I knew loved to party and maybe his wife is into that too but he didn’t have a reputation as a violent person back then.
“Despite the fact that he testified against me I hope his court case goes well for him and his wife – I’m sure Charlie will be okay he always seems to land on his feet.”
It’s understood that prosecutors in the case have been trying to interview his former wife Denise Richards plus ex-girlfriends Kelly Preston and Brittany Ashland too as they try and build their case against the millionaire star.

In 1990 Sheen accidentally shot John Travolta’s current wife Preston in the arm while seven years later Brittany Ashland claimed that Sheen threw her onto the kitchen floor and split her lip – he earned a year’s suspended sentence plus two years probation and a $2,800 fine.
In their 2005 divorce Denise Richards accused Sheen of ‘inappropriate behavior’ including gambling, hiring prostitutes and abusing alcohol and drugs.
Since his Christmas Day Colorado arrest he has entered rehab and so has his wife Brooke Mueller.

But Brooke left rehab and is being treated at home, according to her lawyer. She has an addiction to crack and also suffers from alcoholism.
Charlie will be able to use his wife’s problems at trial, sources close to the case told RadarOnline.com.
Brooke told police that Charlie held a knife to her throat and threatened to kill her.

“Charlie is going to contend that everything Brooke told police isn’t true – that she was out of her head, that she was so messed up she didn’t know what was going on,” one source told RadarOnline.com.
The other thing Sheen has going for him is Mueller does not want to cooperate with prosecutors. And while she has to be careful about backing off her story because she could be prosecuted for making false statements to police, she also does not have to cooperate with prosecutors.

Colorado has cracked down on domestic violence cases and won convictions without the testimony of the beaten spouse but this case is more difficult for prosecutors because Mueller’s heavy drug and alcohol usage at the time of the incident will harm her credibility.

An ex-girlfriend beaten by Charlie Sheen has approached the Colorado prosecutor in charge of the actor’s domestic violence case and offered her help, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.
Sheen is facing one felony and two misdemeanor charges from his Christmas arrest after wife Brooke Mueller called 911 and told police Charlie held a knife to her throat and threatened to kill her.
Now former girlfriend Brittany Ashland, who was attacked by Sheen in 1996, has made contact with Pitkin County Deputy District Attorney Arnold Mordkin through her attorney and offered to help with the prosecution, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.

Colorado authorities want to interview at least three women from Charlie Sheen’s past as they get ready to prosecute the actor on domestic violence charges, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.
Ex girlfriends Brittany Ashland and Kelly Preston, plus ex wife Denise Richards are all being sought for interviews, a source close to the situation told RadarOnline.com.

The district attorney handling Sheen’s case has not issued subpoenas and authorities want the women to cooperate voluntarily as they collect information about Sheen’s troubled past.
Sheen and his wife Brooke Mueller are both currently in rehab.

Pitkin County DA Arnold Mordkin refused to comment when asked by RadarOnline.com if he or his office is trying to interview the women.
But a source told RadarOnline.com that at least one of the women has already been contacted with the request. The interview has not yet taken place.

The Two And a Half Men star was charged with a felony misdemeanor charge of menacing and misdemeanor charges of third degree assault and criminal mischief after he was arrested on Christmas when third wife Mueller told police he held a knife to her throat and threatened to kill her. If convicted, Sheen faces years in prison.
Mordkin told Radar Online.com: “I will not confirm or deny these reports and I can’t comment on what we may or may not be considering doing in this case.”

When asked if he would consider requesting a hair sample from Sheen who is currently being treated in rehab for spiraling cocaine and alcohol use Mordkin was also non-committal.
“I really cannot comment on that either because we do not know if those reports are reliable - but we are expecting to see Charlie Sheen back in Court on March 15, 2010.
“We do not expect to see Brooke Mueller unless she is going to make some kind of motion in the case.”
RadarOnline.com was first to report that Sheen has been using cocaine and alcohol during the months leading up to his rehab stay.

Sheen who has been married three times and has five children has a violent history with women.
In 1990 Sheen accidentally shot his fiancée actress Kelly Preston in the arm effectively ending their engagement. In 1997 Sheen pleaded no contest to criminal charges after girlfriend Brittany Ashland accused him of grabbing her by the hair and smashing her face-first into a marble floor. She also claimed that he threatened her to keep quiet about the alleged attack.

Then in 2006 his second wife Denise Richards filed a restraining order against him claiming that her husband threatened to kill her.
While the prosecution in Colorado may not be able to use any of those prior bad acts in Sheen’s current case, the fact that they are gathering that type of detailed information on him shows, according to the source, that behind the scenes they are not leaning toward leniency if Sheen is convicted.

Now Ashland's attorney has come forward to urge the Colorado District Attorney handling the current case to consider Sheen's history of violence against women while deciding whether to modify the protective order that separates Sheen from Mueller.
