BMX Biker TJ Lavin was released from the hospital and allowed to return home, RadarOnline.com has learned.  The 33-year old has been in the hospital for a month following his accident in Las Vegas where he failed to execute a move called a “nac nac combination” at the Dew Tour Championship.

His mother Barbara “Bobbi” Lavin told Norm Clarke at the Las Vegas Review-Journal that her son “crawled out of a deep hole. 

“He is now walking, talking, eating on his own and is getting his sense of humor back.”

BMX rider TJ Lavin is scheduled for surgery Monday evening and continues to show real signs of improvement, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.

“He’s having surgery later today to fix his wrist, it’s probably going to take a couple more surgeries to get it right again,” a family source says.

Lavin, 33, was hospitalized last Thursday in Las Vegas after failing to execute a move on his bike called a “nac nac combination” at the Dew Tour Championships.

The biker attempted the maneuver over a high dirt hill when he lost control of his body and bike, careening into the ground.

There may be cause for optimism for professional BMX dirt rider T.J. Lavin who was in a devastating accident, RadarOnline.com has learned.

On Saturday, his Barbara, Lavin sent a text message her son's friends and said "Neuro came and spoke to T.J. He moved his hands around and he gave the docs a thumbs up. He is not conscious.  He's back on sedation to rest and minimize brain swelling."

BMX rider TJ Lavin is in critical-but-stable condition at the trauma center of Las Vegas' University Medical Center on Friday, where he remains unconscious after suffering severe injuries during a Dew Tour Championships qualifying event Thursday, his mother told RadarOnline.com exclusively.

In an exclusive interview with RadarOnline.com, his mother Barbara says that TJ remains in critical condition.

In addition to a possible brain injury, Lavin’s mom says he’s also suffered a shattered right wrist, broken right arm and fractured eye socket in the gruesome mishap.

Lavin was semi-conscious when officials retrieved him from the track, his mother said.

Barbara, who was at the hospital with her son early Friday, told RadarOnline.com it was going to be Lavin’s final professional ride, as he’d complained of the injuries he’d been piling up on the circuit and was retiring.

Lavin made a name for himself with a series of high finishes in the X Games during the late 90s, parlaying his fame into a stint on MTV to host their Real World/Road Rules Challenge show for 10 seasons.

He's a Nevada native, and is also involved in composing music and a number of side businesses.
