He believed he could fly -- and he was right!
Jermaine Paul was crowned this season's champ of NBC's The Voice Monday, as the 33-year-old Blake Shelton protégé claimed the grand prize of $100,000 and a record deal following his rousing performance of R. Kelly's signature ballad, I Believe I Can Fly, on Monday's episode.
"I just want to say thank you to everybody that supported me from day one," said the weeping New Yorker, who's worked as a backup singer for Alicia Keys.

A beaming Shelton congratulated his student, telling him, "You did it, you did it!"
Paul edged Cee Lo Green's contestant Juliet Simms, who came in second; former Mouseketeer Tony Lucca, who was coached by Levine, finished third; and Christina Aguilera's contestant, Chris Mann, finished fourth.

They move like Jagger … and fight like Tyson.
While all four finalists let it all hang out on NBC's The Voice Monday, it was judges Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine who made for Tuesday's most compelling water cooler chatter, as the bickering between the stars reached new levels as the second season of their hit show winds down.
As we previously reported, the superstar singers, who successfully collaborated on the pop hit Moves Like Jagger, mixed like oil and water because of the song Adam's protégé Tony Lucca sang -- and it's perhaps underlying message aimed at Christina.

Four of the remaining eight hopefuls were sent packing in an emotional edition of NBC's The Voice Tuesday, as judges Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and CeeLo Green each had to divide 100 points between their two finalists, with the results being factored in with viewer votes to determine who'd be going home.
Christina played it diplomatically, awarding 50 points apiece to her singers, Chris Mann and Lindsey Pavao. Chris won the battle in viewer votes, leaving Lindsay on the outs.

"Christina, thanks for making my dreams come true," Lindsay told the What A Girl Wants singer after she was bounced.
Adam gave Katrina Parker 40 points and Tony Lucca 60 points in an admittedly tough decision.

We're getting down to the nitty gritty on this season of NBC's The Voice, as all eight contestants performed in a semifinal Monday, leaving judges Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Cee Lo Green each with the tough decision of eliminating one of their remaining two singers.
Tony Lucca seemed to make the best impression on Adam's team with his rendition of How You Like Me Now, a song selection the Maroon 5 hunk dubbed "the perfect thing at the perfect moment."
Adam's other team member Katrina Parker received so-so reviews for her take on Killing Me Softly, though Adam did praise her ability to make the song her own.

Blake's got a tough call to make, as both of his singers -- Jermaine Paul and Erin Willett -- excelled in the respective performances of Open Arms and Without You.
"I would give anything to have a tenth of the talent that you have," Blake, who sang his new single Over in the episode, told Erin.

The Voice star Blake Shelton felt the full fury of the voice of his jealous wife, Miranda Lambert, when the country music duo attended the Grammys. An insider tells Star that Miranda closely watched handsome hubby Blake during the Feb. 12 awards ceremony at the Staples Center in L.A. — and when he got chatty with hot pop superstars Lady Gaga and Rihanna, it infuriated her.
"Miranda is extremely jealous and possessive of Blake, and she got very rude when they met Gaga at the awards," says the insider. "When Blake went to sit beside her, Miranda basically pushed him over so she could sit between them.
"And when he tried to lean across to engage Gaga in conversation, Miranda snarled under her breath, 'Don't even think about it!' She was shooting dirty looks at Gaga the whole evening."

The Voice has skyrocketed as one of America's favorite talent shows, but RadarOnline.com has learned not all the contestants are as new to the limelight as the show leads you to believe.
Unlike American Idol, contestants of all ages are welcome to the blind auditions, broadening the spectrum and inviting coaches Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton to choose singers who have already had a shot or two at fame and fortune.
A handful of contestants already chosen have been signed to major record labels, have been on TV shows like the Mickey Mouse Club, have been named 'New Artist To Watch,' and have even dated celebrities!
