Jon Stewart used his appearance Saturday night at an autism fundraiser to fire back at CNN personality Rick Sanchez, RadarOnline.com has learned. Sanchez was canned by his cable net for calling Stewart a "bigot" and claiming that the networks are all controlled by Jews.

After making a serious pitch for autism education during Comedy Central's 'Night of Too Many Stars' benefit, PopEater reports that Stewart joked, "If you went on radio and said the Jews control the media...you may want to hold on to your money."

Then Stewart added that all Sanchez has to do "is apologize to us, and we'll hire him back."

David Letterman made a surprise appearance at the event, and got into the Sanchez action too, reports Gossip Cop, quoting the late night host as saying he was "helping Rick Sanchez clean out his desk."

CNN anchor Rick Sanchez was fired from the company on Friday just one day after he called Jon Stewart a bigot, RadarOnline.com can report.

“We thank Rick for his years of service and we wish him well.”

The announcement comes as a surprise, but explains why Sanchez was notably absent from Friday’s Rick’s List and was replaced by Brooke Baldwin.

CNN severed ties with Sanchez after he made comments on the Stand Up! with Pete Dominick radio show saying Stewart was a bigot and that CNN was “run by Jews.”

“I think Jon Stewart’s a bigot,” Sanchez said on the Sirius radio show Thursday.

“He grew up in a suburban middle class New Jersey home with everything you could imagine. He’s a bigot against everyone who’s not like him.”

CNN anchor Rick Sanchez dropped a bomb on a radio show Thursday calling Jon Stewart a bigot.

The anchor’s comments are creating a media frenzy as Sanchez tried to make the point that if right wing pundits are going to be termed “prejudiced” then should liberals like Stewart.

And he added, “I think Jon’s show is essentially prejudicial. He can’t related to a guy like me, a guy whose dad worked all his life…to someone who grew up poor.”
