Beverly Johnson, the first African American woman ever to grace the cover of Vogue magazine, has been slapped with a civil lawsuit for defamation of character and infliction of emotional distress.
The civil suit comes from Mark Anthony Burk, a former lover of Johnson's, in response to a suit filed by the model claiming he threatened to kill her and her pets.
Documents filed Riverside, Ca. last month have Burk claiming the allegations tarnished his character and impacted his career as a professional golf player. He is asking for payment of legal fees in addition to damages in the amount of $5,000,000.
Johnson, who revolutionized modeling by gracing American Vogue in 1974 as its first black covergirl, has a history of tumultuous relationships. She dated Sex and the City star Chris, who she also accused of abuse.
EXCLUSIVE: Beverly Johnson's Ex: "She Pulled A Gun On Me!"

Former supermodel Beverly Johnson's bitter split from her ex-boyfriend just got even nastier. He now claims that that she pulled a gun on him!
Golf pro Mark Burk filed a police report after the March 8 incident, which he says unfolded after he called Beverly and asked her to return his golf clubs.
The couple had lived together for 2 and a half years before their split. Burk says the 56-year-old "She's Got The Look" judge told him to meet her along a highway in Palm Desert, California.
"When I got into Beverly's car, she ordered me into the back seat, pulled out a little James Bond-type revolver, and pointed it at me!" Burk told RadarOnline.com exclusively.
Burk claims Beverly then began screaming that publicity about their break-up was ruining her career.
"I tried to explain that this whole thing could have been avoided if we'd just split up amicably, and she'd let me retrieve my stuff, but she wouldn't," said Burk, who denies ever threatening his ex.
Johnson obtained a restraining order against Burk in January, alleging he threatened to kill her and her dogs.
Now, he's asking for a temporary restraining order requiring Beverly to stay 100 yards away from him and not contact him by phone or email.
