With Father's Day almost upon us, Twilight's Robert Pattinson, appearing on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno Tuesday, shared some touching anecdotes about his father, and the romantic advice he receives from him.
"I hope this doesn't embarrass him, but my dad loves to send me e-mails, which I love, love getting" Pattinson, 24, said of his father, who is also named Robert.

So what if Twilight's main man Edward Cullen could have just about any woman he fancies -- he's still the old fashioned type, according to the actor that plays him, Robert Pattinson.

"Edward is old fashioned," Pattinson told Parade.com ("Nowadays, everyone just goes around screwing everyone for no reason. I guess Edward doesn't really want to sort of cheapen his relationship with Bella, even though she's pushing him to go all the way. He's got this certain idea of how it should go with the love of his life. He wants to do it right and not just follow his base instincts. I guess I'm a bit old fashioned in that way as well."

Pattinson told Parade that the kissing scenes in Eclipse with his on-screen (and off-screen?) paramour Kristen Stewart were more natural than its predecessors.
"Kissing felt a little bit more natural in Eclipse, even if there was plenty of it," the A-list heartthrob said. "In New Moon and Twilight, it was always like, 'Oh, I'm gonna kill you if I kiss you, or something. It was always kind of odd. But, in this one, they both understand their situation a lot more, which makes it easier. It's the first time Kristen and I have been able to just act like a normal couple."

So were those kissing scenes the result of some ... err ... off-screen practice?
"I guess people like stories, that's my basic conclusion," Pattinson told Parade. "They just want everything in our lives to be like Twilight. The truth is...that I wish I had a few more hours of sleep today so I could think of a better answer. I'm always so exhausted all the time. Lack of sleep is like taking a Valium."
We'll have to just keep guessing -- in the meantime, Pattinson reprises his role of Edward Cullen in Eclipse, which hits screens June 30.

And you thought vampires lived forever: Twilight star Robert Pattinson said in a revealing Nightline interview Monday that he's had so much good fortune early in his career, he thinks he’s probably going to die by the age of 30.
"I guess I just thought if too many good things happen, then you're going to die at 30 -- I didn't want that to happen,” Pattinson said. “Yeah, so probably, I'm going to die at 30. Actually, it's God saying, 'Hey, you shouldn't have asked for too much.'"

Robert Pattinson said he's "very competitive" with his Twilight co-star Taylor Lautner, and touched on his oft-speculated love life in an interview with The Today Show Monday.
