EXCLUSIVE: Quaids In Court, Case Continued - They Get Served With Lawsuits

Randy and Evi Quaid were back in court on Monday to appear for a preliminary hearing on their individual felony charges of defrauding an innkeeper. The case was continued to April 12.
“Basically we weren’t ready to settle,” District Attorney Arnie Tolks told RadarOnline.com. “It takes two sides to every case and at this point we weren’t ready to resolve it.”

The wacky couple arrived early at the Santa Barbara Superior Court House and we’re told things got a little dicey inside. Unlike their appearance in December, in which Randy was sporting a bushy beard, Randy arrived clean shaven in a suit, and Evi wore black slacks and a matching military style jacket.
In keeping with their usual bizarre behavior, the Quaids brought Randy's Golden Globe award to court! Evi was photographed with it, although there was no explanation why they brought it. (Randy won it for best actor in a mini-series or motion picture made for TV in 1988 for LBJ: The Early Years).
A source tells RadarOnline.com that just prior to the hearing a process server appeared and served the couple with three separate lawsuits, prompting Evi to almost lose her cool.

“The process server walked up to them and Evi told her to get away from her,” the source told RadarOnline.com. “She was pi**ed. So the server went up to the bailiff and the bailiff walked over to them and told them they had to take the paperwork.”
The lawsuits were filed by the Quaid’s former private investigator, Becky Altringer, RadarOnline.com has confirmed. We spoke to Altringer who told us, “I’m just so happy because for so long I haven’t been able to find them.”

Altringer said she is suing the couple for $17,200, which includes damages to the mobile home she says they trashed as well as money Altringer says the Quaids never paid her.

The ever crazy antics of Randy and Evi Quaid show no signs of declining, and unfortunately they actually seem to be increasing with time.
In fact, according to their terrified former private investigator, Becky Altringer, the Quaids’ behavior is turning ever more erratic, threatening and, Altriger fears, potentially violent, causing her to file for a restraining order against her former employers.
Altringer filed for a restraining order against both Quaids on Wednesday at Los Angeles Superior Court, Pomona, CA, after what Altringer claims has been a past year of harassment by the Marfa Texas based couple.

“Randy and Evi are bullies and criminals. They get away with sh** because Randy is Randy Quaid,” Altringer told RadarOnline.com in an exclusive interview. “I’ve been in this business for over 15 years and I have never seen the s*** I have seen with the Quaids. I can’t find justice in our judicial system so filing the restraining order has been the only justice I am getting.”
As RadarOnline.com exclusively reported, Altringer received threatening phone calls from Randy and Evi on Monday morning. In one voicemail, Randy screams obscenities at her and says he’s going to “take her down.” In her message, Evi accuses Altringer of being a thief and of stalking them.

The Quaids have also been allegedly threatening a former friend of theirs who claims the embattled couple owe her money. Anke Magussen told RadarOnline.com that she’s know Randy and Evi “for 20 years” and that Evi’s personality has “definitely changed over the years. She is not the same person that she was.” Anke goes on to say that she is “terrified” of the couple.
In her restraining order request, Altringer asks that the Quaids be ordered to stay away from her, as well as others in her household, in person and at their home, as well as their vehicles. She asks that the Quaids be prevented from contact via telephone, email, postal mail or in person and that they be restrained from any type of attack.

The judge initially denied granting the order, stating there is insufficient evidence to prove imminent danger to Altringer. The judge did set a date for a hearing though on February 19th, where Altringer will be able to lay out her case for the restraining order to be put in place.
However, Altringer has to come up with filing fees of $700 in order to proceed, a sum she’s not sure she will be able to muster. “I requested the judge to waive the fees but the judge refused without even talking to me,” Altringer explains to RadarOnline.com. “I appealed his decision today.

“If the Quaids don’t appear in person or respond by February 19th my restraining order will be put in place for 3 years. However, first I have to find the Quaids to have them served.”

Having received criticism from many for making her troubles with the Quaids public, Altringer responds, telling RadarOnline.com that she feels she’s had little choice in the matter, and that she is genuinely terrified by the Quaids’ behavior and many threats. “Randy is a well known famous person and people are scared, or don’t want to cross him,” Altringer says. “I’m a nobody compared to him and I feel I have to take my story to the masses to be heard. I feel that I can’t let them get away with bullying, threatening and intimidating people just because of who they are. I have to fight back in any way I can.”
A call to the Quaids was not returned. In other legal news, the Quaids are due back in a Santa Barbara courthouse in March to face felony charges relating to unpaid hotel bills.

The Quaids are continuing their campaign of terror over the phone lines, as another victim comes forward to tell RadarOnline.com that she too has been receiving threatening messages from the wacky couple.
As RadarOnline.com previously reported the Quaid’s former PI Becky Altringer was left threatening messages Monday morning by both Randy and Evi Quaid. Randy menacingly told Altringer, “We’re going to f***ing take you down baby – you a**hole”. While an angry and ever paranoid Evi accused Altringer of stealing from them and of stalking them.

Now, Anke Magussen, a one time friend of the Quaids, tells RadarOnline.com that the crazy couple have been leaving threatening messages for her too, leaving her scared and looking over her shoulder.
Anke is too frightened to release the actual tapes to RadarOnline.com saying, "I'm scared. [Evi] has nothing to lose. She has nothing better to do than to harass people all day long. She watches everything and listens to everything.

Meanwhile Becky is gearing up for a potential terrifying showdown at her home Tuesday. Becky says that Evi and Randy have threatened that they’re on their way to Altringer’s home. According to Altringer, Evi has said she is going to break into Altringer’s home and steal her computer which she says has “stolen” information on it. Altringer has local police on stand-by and has said she will do what it takes to defend her home and her family.

Altringer received a pair of matching threatening voicemails from the couple Monday morning accusing her of stalking them and of being a criminal. Randy gets particularly heated, calling Altringer a "kook" and threatening, "We are going to f****ng take you down baby - you a**hole".

The video, which was shot when they were living at the house of their former private investigator, Becky Altringer, starts off with the pair watching TV. Then the video cuts to Randy Quaid sitting in the garden. After trading pleasantries with Randy the camera operator (Becky Altringer) gets straight down to business, saying, “I’m taking this camera with me to film whatever Evi’s doing and hopefully we don’t end up in jail or anything.”

The video then cuts to an outside scene and we are shown Randy driving up in his car while Altringer films and so does Evi. So why is Evi filming too?

If anyone were to search her residence and Precision Packing and Installation then they would find tons of tapes. The video continues with Randy meeting up with two men, standing by a van with “Precision Packing and Installation” written on it. All the time Evi is filming them and Altringer is filming her filming them!
According to Altringer, “The bald guy they’re meeting with is Lou, he owns Precision Packing. It is the same company that rented the truck to Evi that she then painted on in Marfa about the sheriff.”

Randy and Lou go on to discuss a wrought iron table which is “sitting under a big tree”.
Next Evi displays her paranoid side and talks about her and Randy being lured out and someone putting a GPS on her car.

But the piece de la resistance is the end where Evi talks about digging up her dead horse that is buried in the garden and getting an autopsy performed on it!
According to Altringer, “Evi wanted to have the horse dug up and an autopsy on the remains because she thought the horse was murdered. Even though her and Randy were with the horse and gave it champagne just before it being put down.”

Despite being arrested and charged with three felonies for unpaid hotel bills and being sued for alleged libelous comments about a Texas deputy sheriff, Evi Quaid is now lashing out at another former employee, private investigator Becky Altringer.

Altringer contacted RadarOnline.com on Friday after she received a threatening letter from Evi, demanding that she pay money to a company called Evzenyatx LLC.
The letter claims Altringer violated a confidentiality agreement that she signed while she was working as a private investigator for the Quaids.

The unpunctuated letter states: “If you can not pay, please submit all assets to a list of collection agents that will contact you please plan to submit all assets you plan to remit to cover your debt by end of business Monday cars, Homes, business assets will be reviewed for valuation per your mortgages, leases, bank value. 50% of all Debt collected will be given to the county sheriff’s department and city Police, the Constables, fire department, Blackwell School Families and employees of the Dairy Queen of Marfa, Texas and presidio county for the egregious waste of tax payers’ time and dollars you have caused.”

We also received a copy of the letter Altringer wrote in response to Evi’s claim, which states, “I received a letter from the Four Seasons in Austin, Tx. The letter made no sense and our company is not in violation of any areement. We do not know what or who Blackwell School Family is or what the Dairy Queen or county judge have to do with this. Our office never contacted any of these individuals. Evi Quaid has been making threats since I terminated our services on June 27, 2009 and I am demanding that she cease with any further threats.”
