Adele cleaned up, sweeping the six categories she was nominated in, during Sunday’s 54th annual Grammy Awards from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, as the music world still reeled in the wake of Whitney Houston’s shocking death at 48 a day before.

The 23-year-old British soul singer went 6-for-6 in the categories she was nominated in, including album of the year, record of the year, and song of the year for her second album, 21. With the six wins, Adele tied Beyoncé for the most ever by a female act in a single year.

The Original Beach Boys Reunite For New Album And Tour

By Radar Staff

The surviving members of the original Beach Boys -- Brian Wilson, Mike Love and Al Jardine -- are reuniting to celebrate the iconic band's 50th anniversary.

They'll be joined by Bruce Johnston and David Marks, both of whom have had long associations with the group.

Wilson last toured with the Beach Boys in 1965, and his last completed album with them, Pet Sounds, is widely considered one of the best rock & roll albums of all times.

They'd partially completed another album, Smile when they split and Brian spiralled into years of clinical depression and drug abuse.

Wilson's two brothers, both Beach Boys co-founders, were Dennis who died from drowning in 1983 and Carl who succumbed to cancer in 1998.

Cousin Mike Love has never stopped performing as the Beach Boys, even while he and Brian mounted numerous lawsuits against each other.

But with the just-passed 50th anniversary's of the band's founding, tempers apparently have simmered and the boys decided it was time to get back to those good vibrations.

“This anniversary is special to me because I miss the boys and it will be a thrill for me to make a new record and be on stage with them again," Wilson said in a statement.

Their first appearance will be on the Grammy Awards in February. They'll begin their tour in New Orleans in April.

A spokesperson for Rondor Music told RadarOnline.com, “To confirm, there is no lawsuit against the writers or publishers of California Gurls. We have established diminutive claim. It is up to the six writers and various publishers of California Gurls to decide whether they honor the claim or not.”

“Using the words or melody in a new song taken from an original work is not appropriate under any circumstances, particularly from one as well known and iconic as California Girls. Rondor Music, who publishes the works of Brian Wilson and Mike Love, is committed to protecting the rights of its artists and songwriters, and with the support of the writers, that is exactly what we are doing.”

Controversy arose because Perry uses the famous line “I wish they all could be California girls” in her version of California Gurls, which Snoop Dogg sings at the end of the track.

Perry’s publicist Heidi Anne-Noel had no comment when contacted by RadarOnline.com.
