Pauly D is being haunted by a bar room brawl that occurred while shooting the first season of Jersey Shore.

The reality hunk is being sued for allegedly “viciously assaulting” a 21-year-old hairdresser on Jersey Shore. And for the first time the plaintiff’s attorney is speaking out, giving a hard-hitting interview to RadarOnline.com.
John Novak told RadarOnline.com about the incident: “Pauly D punched my client in the face while he was being held and then said, ‘It takes nine pounds of pressure to break a nose, you got to hit them just right.’”

Novak then contended that the show encouraged the incident. “If you go to the Jersey Shore on any given day in the summer you will see people reading, playing in the waves, walking on the boardwalk eating sausages and having a beer, but that’s not exciting enough for ratings, you need drama to perpetuate ratings and my client was used as a mere prop,” he told RadarOnline.com.

But Pauly’s friends tell a different story. “There’s no merit to this lawsuit at all,” a source close to Pauly tells RadarOnline.com.

The drama was captured by MTV cameras and took place at the Bamboo Lounge in New Jersey on July 1, 2009. Hairdresser Kenneth Hoffman was not able to work for eight weeks after being punched, according to his lawyer.

Pauly’s friends claim the altercation was actually started by Hoffman - saying he pushed aggressively into Pauly D's Jersey Shore co-star, Vinny, prompting Pauly to lash out in protection of his buddy.

But Hoffman’s attorney says there was no fight, “Hoffman was put in a choke hold by a Bamboo Lounge employee and when Pauly D saw this he charged over and viciously assaulted my client,” Novak told RadarOnline.com.
RadarOnlne.com was first to report details of the lawsuit on Wednesday. Now, Hoffman is promising that the real fight will be in the courtroom.

The lawsuit, filed in Superior Court in Ocean County, names MTV, its parent company, Viacom International, Jersey Shore and its producers 495 Productions, Pauly D, Bamboo Bar, and Bamboo Lounge bouncer Thomas McDade as defendants.

RadarOnline.com has learned that Jersey Shore star, Pauly D, is being sued by 21-year-old hairdresser, Kenneth Hoffman, following an altercation at the Bamboo Lounge in New Jersey on July 1st 2009.
In a lawsuit filed late last month, Hoffman's attorneys, Jean Donoghue-Simon and John Novak state that Pauly D punched their client in the face, going on to claim that Hoffman was "savagely beaten."

A source close to Pauly tells a very different story though, claiming it's a completely frivolous lawsuit.
The source also claims the altercation was actually started by Hoffman - saying he pushed aggressively into Pauly D's Jersey Shore co-star, Vinny, prompting Pauly to lash out in protection of his buddy.

"There's no merit to this lawsuit at all," the source tells RadarOnline.com exclusively. "I feel badly for Pauly, as this went down it was just a reaction punch."
Hoffman though says he suffered a severe injury to his cervical spine for which he later required spinal-fusion surgery.

He also claims he was out of work for about eight weeks and currently has been able to return to work only on a limited basis.
