Meryl Streep Loses Shoe At BAFTAs!

That’s shoe-biz. 

Meryl Streep -- who took home the Best Actress for her role of ex-English Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady at Sunday night's British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards -- lost her show en route to the stage. 

Luckily for Meryl, The King Speech’s Colin Firth was quite the chivalrous gentleman, helping the incomparable actress replace the shoe prior to her acceptance speech.

"Somebody once said the fate of the well known is to be misunderstood," Streep said in her speech.

We'll see if Streep’s success continues at the 84th annual Academy Awards, which takes place in Los Angeles Sunday, February 26.

The Artist’s award season success continued at Sunday night's British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards in London, as the acclaimed silent film racked up seven awards, including the honors for Best Picture, Best Actor (Jean Dujardin), Best Director and Best Original Screenplay (both Michel Hazanavicius).

"So many people thought there was no script because there was no dialogue," Hazanavicius said after accepting the award from presenter Brad Pitt.

The kings and queens of Hollywood came out to meet the future king and queen of England, and not since the last Oscar ceremony has there been so much glamor on the red carpet.

The event was the British Academy of Film & Television Arts' Brits to Watch gala. Prince William is the president of BAFTA, an organization that has a strong presence in Hollywood.

Kate was definitely the style standout of the gala, held in downtown L.A. The Duchess of Cambridge wore a lilac chiffon Alexander McQueen gown accessorized with earrings she'd borrowed from Queen Elizabeth.

Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Garner, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson were all there.  Jennifer Lopez was seen chatting with the  Prince before the dinner got underway. Barbra Streisand and husband James Brolin got some one-on-one time with the Prince as well.

Blake Lively, Maria Bello, Zooey Deschanel and Elizabeth Banks were among the fashion stand-outs. We also spotted Jack Black, Piers Morgan and Mary-Louise Parker.

The King's Speech’s award once again reigned supreme at the BAFTAs -- the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards -- RadarOnline.com has learned, as the acclaimed film picked up seven honors at the ceremony, which took place at the Royal Opera House in London's Covent Garden.

The film won the awards for best picture, best actor (Colin Firth), supporting actor (Geoffrey Rush), supporting actress (Helena Bonham Carter) and original screenplay writer (David Seidler), among its’ highest honors.

Here's another sign that the Oscars are right around the corner.

On Tuesday, nominations for the British Academy Film Awards -- the British equivalent of the Academy Awards -- were announced in London with The King's Speech leading the pack with 14 nomimations, followed by Black Swan with 12 nods.

At The Orange British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) Sunday night, our favorite Oscar contenders got gowned in crave worthy couture.  Burberry had a huge influence on the red carpet, with designer Christopher Bailey scoring three starlets on the red carpet.  Claire Danes, Saoirse Ronan and Uma Thurman all looked divine in Burberry gowns, which were custom-made to absolute perfection to show off their individual beauty.
