Howard Stern doesn't just mention the 800-pound elephant in the room, he throws a saddle on it.

The 55-year-old said he felt pressure to have a memorable appearance on The Late Show With David Letterman "in light of what's going on" in late night television.

"This Conan O'Brien took over the Leno show, you heard about this," Stern said, to which Letterman replied, "Yes I did -- I got a wire."

Letterman tried to change the subject, but to no avail.
