While he may have a new gal pal since splitting with Avril Lavigne this fall, Deryck Whibley still seems to be adjusting to his new bachelor life. During a recent night out with pals, the Sum 41 rocker could barely muster the enthusiasm for a raucous night on the town.

“It looked like Deryck was trying hard to appear as if he was having a good time, but you could tell he was miserable,” a source tells RadarOnline.com about his October 27 stop at Guys and Dolls in West Hollywood.

Despite being surrounded by a good looking crowd (including pal Ryan Cabrera): “He didn’t seem like he was in the mood to talk to any girls or get rowdy, but it seemed like his friends were trying their best to cheer him up.”
Arriving around 11:30 pm, the group was quickly sat at a VIP table near the dance floor. Instead of mingling with the ladies vying for his group’s attention, Whibley sat on his own and texted on his phone for most of the night while occasionally exchanging stories and chatting with his guy friends.

As he and his group prepared to leave at 1:40 am shortly before closing, the conversation turned to the after party. “Ryan was telling the entire group to come and keep the party going at his house, but Deryck kept acting like he was tired. He definitely seemed like he was looking for a way out of going.”

Whibley eventually convinced one of his friends to give him a ride home, said goodbye to his group, and headed out minutes before 2 am.
Following his split from Lavigne in September, Whibley was spotted at The Stack in the Mirage Hotel with model Hanna Beth Merjos a mere month after the divorce announcement. They were also spotted in Los Angeles together in October leaving a tattoo parlor.
Despite the quick rebound, it seems even young, rich rock stars get the blues!

It looks like rocker Deryck Whibley isn’t too upset about his pending divorce from rocker Avril Lavigne after he was spotted at a tattoo studio with new girlfriend Hanna Beth Merjos.
RadarOnline.com broke the story that Lavigne had filed from divorce from the Sum 41 rocker after citing ‘irreconcilable differences’ in her papers.

"We have been friends since I was 17, started dating when I was 19, and married when I was 21. I am grateful for our time together, and I am grateful and blessed for our remaining friendship. I admire Deryck and have a great amount of respect for him. He is the most amazing person I know and I love him with all my heart. Deryck and I are separating and moving forward on a positive note. According to Lavigne's filing, they couple separated on September 4. She is also requesting that the court terminate Whibley's right to be awarded spousal support. In 2007 Lavigne plunked down $9.5 million for their 12,184 square foot Tuscan-style retreat in Bel Air.

After months of speculation and reports of a deeply troubled marriage, rocker Avril Lavigne has finally confirmed that she is calling it quits with husband Deryck Whibley.
Hollywood has been filled with rumors that the Canadian couple's relationship has been on the rocks for quite sometime and now Lavigne, 25, has told her husband to 'hit the curb' from their fabulous $9.5 million Bel Air mansion in Los Angeles.

Avril released a statement on her blog Thursday confirming the breakup.
"Deryck and I have been together for 6 and a half years," Lavigne writes. "We have been friends since I was 17, started dating when I was 19, and married when I was 21. According to insiders Whibley, 29, is reportedly 'crushed' that the marriage is over but he must also be 'distraught' that he is no longer living at the stunning mansion which was previously owned by fellow rocker Travis Barker.
Lavigne splashed-out $9.5 million to purchase the 12,184 sq ft Tuscan style mansion in the gated Bel Air community in 2007.
The three story mansion on Stratford Circle boasts eight bedrooms, ten bathrooms, an elevator, office, high tech kitchen, 10 car garage, steam room, spa, landscaped gardens and outdoor swimming pool.

In a surprise announcement Wednesday Fox revealed that talk show titan Ellen DeGeneres is set to become the fourth judge on the smash hit TV show American Idol.
Degeneres will join existing judges, Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi.
In a statement from Fox DeGeneres said "I’ve watched since the beginning, and I’ve always been a huge fan. So getting this job is a dream come true, and think of all the money I’ll save from not having to text in my vote.”
The ninth season of American Idol premieres January 2010 on FOX.
DeGeneres will join the judges’ panel after the auditions, which will feature appearances by guest judges Victoria Beckham, Mary J. Blige, Kristin Chenoweth, Joe Jonas, Neil Patrick Harris, Avril Lavigne, Katy Perry and Shania Twain.

Avril Lavigne and Deryck Whibley have denied divorce whispers practically since they married in 2006 but those whispers are growing a lot louder.
Spywitnesses for RadarOnline.com have seen the couple apart more than together during the past year at various Los Angeles nightspots and now the New York Daily News reports Avril spent this past weekend in Southampton sans her singer husband.

Tori Amos performed at the Savoy Theatre in London Monday trying to revive her on-stage persona in an Avril Lavigne-like star print jersey maxi dress.
In fact, so Avril-esque that it bears a striking resemblance to Lavigne's line for discount retailer Kohl's.
Amos, a 45 year-old singer, attempting to channel a punk rocker nearly half her age screams midlife fashion crisis!
One thing is for sure, both red headed gals are known for emotionally intense songs and diminishing radio air play. We do, though, like the star print for teens and twenty-somethings!
Sorry Tori, this time you are so not anything but ordinary!
