Michael Jackson's legacy was on the top of everyone's minds at the 23rd Annual ASACP Rhythm & Soul Awards Friday night, and RadarOnline.com's Jessica Campbell was there at the Beverly Hilton Hotel to talk to all the stars about the King of Pop.

We were on the red carpet to ask some of your favorite rhythm and soul celebrities, “Which Michael is your favorite Michael?”  Is it the “Jackson 5” Michael with the baby Afro and bell bottoms, the “Thriller” Michael with red Members Only jacket, or was it the “BAD” Michael that told you about Dirty Diana.

Everyone has a memory that connects him or her with MJ. Today’s artists are very influenced by Michael Jackson and were excited to tell us how he moon walked into their hearts and changed their lives.  Janelle Monae channeled the essence of the King on the red carpet and let her swagga hang out in her black velvet blinged-out military jacket.

Michael Bearden who was the musical director for the film, “This is It” loves every Michael era, as did many of the celebrities that walked the carpet. Neyo, an R&B singer that carries MJ’s energy in every dance move, shared, “My favorite Michael is ‘Thriller’ Michael;  ‘Off the Wall’ Michael…in that era right there.  That’s my personal favorite Michael."

Super producer Danja chose the “Bad” Michael explaining, “ ‘Bad’ Michael cause that was the ultimate, I’m here, I’m sexy, nobody's fooling with me!  His energy and his look was like I’m the best!”

The sassy and sexy girl group Elektrik Red couldn’t decide which Michael was best so they elaborated on the great qualities Michael had in every period of his life.  Smoking hot music producer Brian Kennedy took a moment to tell us how Michael influenced him, “ As a person he influenced me to want to be great at everything I do not even with my music but just generally.”

To our surprise LA Laker Ron Artest told us he followed MJ so closely it helped him choose his basketball number, “I had the red jacket, when he was in ‘Beat it’ I think; I had the jacket.  It was dope, you know and my number was number 37, actually for Michael Jackson for ‘Thriller’ 37 weeks (at) number 1.”

Motown Records' Smokey Robinson, along with Hip-hop artist Wyclef Jean, were just a few of the stars commenting on the sudden death of pop icon Michael Jackson at ASCAP'S 22ND Annual Rhythm & Soul Music Awards, held Friday evening.

"I feel we lost not only a pop icon but the music industry lost a father," said producer Jean.

The star-studded event which was attended by over 650 leading songwriters, recording artists and musical industry notables like Alicia Keys and Ne-Yo, was held in Beverly Hills, Ca.
