Angels and Demons opened on top of the box office this weekend, once again pitting Tom Hanks against the murderous forces of religious fanaticism. However, even a complex and tightly written film like this sequel to The Da Vinci Code is bound to have some plot holes, continuity errors, and lapses in logic.

Tom Hanks' Angels And Demons, a thriller based on Dan Brown's novel, had a $152 million opening weekend worldwide, and the film's domestic $48 million take beat out incumbent Star Trek's $42 million second week.
The film garnered some poor reviews from critics, but that didn't seem to impact its financial success. Starring Tom Hanks as a Harvard academic-turned-Vatican savior, the Catholic church thriller fell short of matching the domestic $77 million opening its predecessor, The Da Vinci Code, took in during its 2006 opening weekend.
