Adam Lambert Scuffles With Out Magazine

American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert graces the cover of Out magazine this month which features him as the “Out 100” Breakout Honoree of the Year. However, the magazine also features a letter from editor-in-chief, Aaron Hicklin, in which he calls out Lambert, his record label and management. The singer recently took to his Twitter page with his own fighting words.

“We’re curious whether you know that we made cover offers for you before American Idol was even halfway through its run. Apparently, Out was too gay, even for you. There was the issue of what it would do to your record sales, we were told,” Hicklin wrote. “Imagine! A gay musician on the cover of a gay magazine. What might the parents think! It’s only because this cover is a group shot that includes a straight woman that your team would allow you to be photographed at all.”

The journalist who interviewed Lambert, Shana Naomi Krockmal, also wrote an open letter to him. “I briefly met Adam, and then the publicist and I walked out to the balcony, at which point I was cautioned against making the interview ‘too gay,’ or, ‘you know, gay-gay.’”

Krockmal went on to point out that Adam is an openly gay man and “that in addition to being able to sing his face off (his words), he is defiantly, outrageously campy and queer—and that he seems to have such a sense of humor about it, and a willingness to shake things up.”
Apparently not. Lambert took to his Twitter page today to respond saying, “Dear Aaron, it's def not that deep. Chill! Guess ya gotta get attention for the magazine. U too are at the mercy of the marketing machine… Until we have a meaningful conversation, perhaps you should refrain from projecting your publications' agenda onto my career.”

Adam Lambert was quite the showman on Sunday, as the talented vocalist, clad in a black leather trench coat, was snapped in downtown Los Angeles shooting a video for his upcoming album, For Your Entertainment.

Extras in the video wore plenty of black leather, chains and other risqué gear; one muscleman was snapped walking the streets in a loincloth with black boots.

Cowell has just donated $160,000 to save the life of 18-month-old Sophie Atay from Gateshead in the United Kingdom.

A judge in Los Angeles granted a restraining order against the man that has been harassing Ryan Seacrest after he went to the E! building with a knife Friday morning.

Chidi Uzomah has been ordered to stay 100 yards away from Ryan and he must stay away from his home, job, and vehicle.
Ryan Seacrest’s Alleged Stalker Detained
In the restraining order Seacrest said that he is “Quite frightened of Mr. Uzomah and firmly believe that my personal safety, and the personal safety of those around me, is in immediate jeopardy.”
Uzomah is being held on felony stalking. The American Idol host complained of being harassed by Uzomah repeatedly since September.

Kelly Clarkson channeled her inner rock goddess Monday night at a private acoustic concert at HUB 51 in Chicago.
The American Idol alum was offered a shot on stage by a fan in the audience and dispelling any ideas about her being a clean living good girl she was quick to accept.

He may be the busiest man in show business, but Ryan Seacrest regularly takes time out for charity. Saturday, he hosted the Hearts and Hands Gala fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House in his home town of Atlanta.

Uber-composer/producer Andrew Lloyd Webber has prostate cancer. "Andrew is undergoing treatment and expects to be fully back to work before the end of the year," his spokesperson said in a statement.
The mind behind such mega stage musical hits as The Phantom of the Opera and Cats, Lloyd Webber was an American Idol "mentor" in October, 2008 but later said he thought Simon Cowell preferred to "torture" the contestants rather than motivate them.
