The singer and his partner David Furnish visited a Ukrainian orphanage September 12, and one little boy named Levi may be soon becoming part of their family, “David has always wanted to adopt a child and I always said ‘no’ because I am 62 and I think because of the traveling I do and the life I have maybe it wouldn’t be fair for the child,” Elton told reporters accompanying him on his mission for his Elton John AIDS Foundation.
“But I have seen Levi today. I would love to adopt him. I don’t know how we do that but he has stolen my heart. And he has stolen David’s heart and it would be wonderful if we can have a home. I’ve changed my mind today.”
Elton’s appearance at the orphanage, where he performed for the kids, came on the same day that Jolie visited the world’s worst refugee camp in Kenya where she tried to comfort starving children and their mothers.

Levi Johnston: Sarah Palin Masterminded Baby Cover-Up Scheme
Posted on Sep 02, 2009 @ 12:50PM - 22 comments

Sarah Palin, in gearing up for the publicity and limelight as Sen. John McCain's running mate, wanted to cover up daughter Bristol's pregnancy last year, the father of Palin's grandson Tripp, Levi Johnston, wrote in an upcoming Vanity Fair article.
"Sarah told me she had a great idea: we would keep it a secret—nobody would know that Bristol was pregnant," Johnston wrote.
Johnston wrote that Palin wanted to dupe the public into believing that she and Todd had adopted the child to cool the heat stemming from the pregnancy of her unmarried 17-year-old daughter.
"She told me that once Bristol had the baby she and Todd would adopt him," he said. "That way, she said, Bristol and I didn’t have to worry about anything. Sarah kept mentioning this plan. She was nagging—she wouldn’t give up. She would say, 'So, are you gonna let me adopt him?'"
Levi wrote that the decision was ultimately made by the young parents of infant Tripp, who was born in Dec. 2008.
"We both kept telling her we were definitely not going to let her adopt the baby," he said.

The three-judge panel, headed by Malawi's Chief Justice, Lovemore Munlo, said that the lower courts initial ruling was out of sync with the times, and that the entertainer's philanthropic history toward the African nation should have been taken into account.
As expected, the singer born Madonna Louise Ciccone was thrilled with the news.

Madonna will have her day in court: May 4, to be exact.
Three judges from the country's Supreme Court of Appeals will preside over the private proceedings, officials said, adding the singer does not have to be present. It is unknown whether she will attend at this time.
The singer, hoping to adopt 4-year-old Chifundo "Mercy" James, is appealing a judge's rejection of her adoption request earlier this month. The judge said, in her ruling, that the singer had not met proper residency standards required for prospective adoptive parents.
Amy Winehouse Adopting St. Lucia Child?

Have the pioneering adoption efforts of Madonna and Angelina Jolie touched even the likes of Amy Winehouse?
Perhaps, as one British newspaper suspects the embattled singer intends to adopt a child from her never-ending vacation spot, St. Lucia in the Caribbean Islands.
The rumor comes on the heels of the news that Winehouse's equally troubled husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, is fathering another woman's baby.
"Amy's gutted about Blake becoming a dad and moving on so quickly. She has always wanted to be a mother," a source tells the Daily Mail.
Reps for the singer said, "Amy was taking about adopting in the context of looking after children on the island, perhaps through some kind of music and education-based project."
Winehouse, pictured above on her second stint on the island, returned to St. Lucia at the end of March. Her first and infamous holiday totaled 33 days of sun, sand and long nights at her resort restaurant and private bungalow.
