David Beckham may not get to play hero in the upcoming World Cup, but he gets to be a hero on the pages of his very own comic book instead, as Bluewater Productions announced Wednesday that the soccer superstar will be profile Fame: David Beckham, that details his ascension up the ranks of soccer and beyond.

“Working on the Beckham book was quite different from any other comic I've worked on to date,” comic writer Pete Rogers said. “Telling someone's real life story was quite a challenge, and I tried to find as many ways as possible to ensure that it was visually interesting and not just a case of 'He did this, and then he did that'.”

In a recent interview, Beckham said the "silver lining" to his injury is that he's spending more time with family. He said that while his three sons are big soccer fans, they're also avid baseball, football and basketball enthusiasts, as well -- we hope they like comic books, too!

Soccer superstar David Beckham opened up about the injury that kept him out of the World Cup, and how he's been making the most of his downtime while recovering, in an appearance on Good Morning America Monday, and RadarOnline.com has the clip for you.
Beckham, 34, tore his left Achilles tendon toward the end of a game last month and had to be carted off on a stretcher, essentially knocking him out of the highly-anticipated World Cup competition slated for this summer.
He said that suffering the injury felt "a lot like being hit by a hockey puck.
"I felt down there and ... I knew what I had done," he said of the moment he realized he was hurt. "It's frustrating -- it's obviously disappointing, because I've been trying to get myself onto the English squad to make the World Cup ... but I'm moving on."
The good news? Beckham said the "silver lining" to his downtime is that he's spending more time with family. He said that while his three sons are big soccer fans, they're also avid baseball, football and basketball enthusiasts, as well.
"They're talented little boys, but, whatever they want to do, it doesn't matter," Beckham said. "But it'd be great for them to be involved in sports, because it's such a great thing.

David Beckham suffered a painful injury Sunday, when the soccer stud tore his left Achilles tendon during the final moments of his AC Milan's 1-0 win over Chievo, and RadarOnline.com has video of what happened.
Beckham, 34, fell into a heap toward the end of the game and had to be carted off on a stretcher, essentially knocking him out of the World Cup competition slated for this summer.
Beckham used crutches and sported wounds on his face departing his Milan hotel Monday morning; he is slated to undergo surgery at the Turku, Finland clinic of Dr. Sakari Orava Monday afternoon.

David Beckham nearly went nuts when Italian actress/TV personality Elena Di Cioccio pranked the Soccer superstar during a mass interview in an Milan, Italy restaurant, nonchalantly grabbing his crotch in hopes of gaging the size of his genitals.
"David was not at all pleased with this stunt," a rep for Beckham's current squad, A.C. Milan, told following the incident. "He didn't know what was going on and luckily the security team stepped in and stopped her having another go."

The LA Galaxy star, on loan to A.C. Milan, was left beside himself after Di Cioccio carried out her attack on the father-of-three as part of the show called Le Iene (The Hyenas).
In the video (which is in Italian), we see Di Cioccio approach Beckham, and yes, she cops a feel!
Di Cioccio said she wanted to see "how he measured up" after rumors emerged that Beckham -- nicknamed "Golden balls" by his celeb wife Victoria, has benefited from computer enhancement below the belt.

LA Galaxy star David Beckham was left heartbroken Wednesday after he learned that his grandfather had died just hours after the soccer ace landed in South Africa.
Beckham – who is in South Africa to help England win the race to host the World Cup in 2018 – had just landed in Cape Town when he heard the sad news about Joseph West, 83, from upset family members.

The pair were evacuated from the swanky Four Seaons just before 2 p.m., according to reports, after a bomb threat was phoned into the celeb-fave spot.
