Former American Idol contestant Alex Lambert shocked fans Monday when he began Twittering that he is homeless and has been sleeping on the streets. Now a rep from Lambert’s record company, 19 Entertainment, is striking back at those claims saying the aspiring singer is on retainer and looking for an apartment – not homeless.

A musician, actor, two actresses and a model meet in N.Y. before traveling to Berlin, Tokyo, Taipei, Sydney, Rio, Toronto, finally returning to the U.S. for a cross-country road trip. When they finally move into a swanky Hollywood Hills house, they are groomed and mentored by celebrities and – wait for it – they get to rehearse and test their ideas online, with viewers around the world. If they can use the power of social media in this interactive reality game, they might just have another American Idol. The show debuts at the end of February. We’ll keep you posted.

Simon Cowell will return to American Idol for three more seasons, as the British music mogul is finalizing terms on a new contract, a top executive said Monday.
Robert Sillerman, the chairman of CKX, (the parent company of 19 Entertainment, which produces Idol) confirmed on a second-quarter earnings call that the popular judge on the top-rated program is wrapping up the new deal.

The creator and executive producer of American Idol, Simon Fuller is always on the hunt for The Next Big Thing.
His company, 19 Entertainment, has just signed a deal with Tricky Stewart’s RedZone Entertainment to search out the world for “new vocal talent.”
Wait a minute.
Isn’t that what American Idol does?
Stewart is the producer of Rihanna’s Umbrella and Beyonce’s Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It).
The two music moguls are forming a new company to make sure that no Kris Allen, Adam Lambert or Susan Boyle ever goes undiscovered.
