All men are really dogs trying to get women to disrobe. All women really are mushy romantics, hopelessly waiting for Mr. Right. If ladies would just wear tighter clothes and grow longer hair, dating would be easy.
Phew! Once The Ugly Truth gets all those conventional male-female jokes out of the way, it’s time for the real story. The film, which was just released on DVD, features Katherine Heigl as Abby Richter, aka the Most Uptight Woman on Earth. High-strung and perpetually single, the pretty news producer is great at her job, but terrible at finding love.

The ugly truth is -- rain or shine -- Gerard Butler can do just about anything.
On Monday, the studly Scot was in London appearing on a UK morning show to promote his new romantic comedy (The Ugly Truth) co-starring Katherine Heigl when he surprised Weather Girl Clare Nasir as she was delivering the forecast.

Funny People, the drama about comedians dealing with death and love lost in Los Angeles, nabbed the top spot at the box office.
But is it a success for reigning giggle king Judd Apatow, who produced the film?
For star power like Adam Sandler, a nearly $24 million opening weekend usually just covers his price tag.
Analysts point out, however, that this is a successful opening for the more serious fare Sandler has attempted.

Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler got their own dose of Ugly Truth while promoting their new romantic comedy of the same name Saturday in Beverly Hills, Ca.
The pair were evacuated from the swanky Four Seaons just before 2 p.m., according to reports, after a bomb threat was phoned into the celeb-fave spot.

Katherine Heigl's newest flick, The Ugly Truth, premiered in Los Angeles Thursday night and the fab summer getups were anything but "Ugly" -- that was reserved for Rachel Bilson running around Hollywood!

Looking beauteous in head-to-toe beige, Katherine Heigl showed off her new brunette locks in a stunning strapless tulle Lanvin draped dress and a mouth-wateringly fabulous pearl David Yurman multi-layered necklace. Heigl's Grey's Anatomy costar Kate Walsh showed her support in a sexy way going sans shirt and accessorizing her white short suit with a trendy gold metallic clutch and peep-toes. The always fashionable Jewel brought a pop of color to the press line in a green maxi-dress with an intricate embroidered neckline.
Rachel Bilson's look wasn't that bad -- but the usually stylish young Hollywood fashionista definitely sported a Vogue party "morning after" getup: a country gal red floral halter number, lace up boots, and a denim jacket -- a look that would make Anna Wintour cringe!
On the other coast, True Blood babe Anna Paquin showed off her true fab figure in a body-hugging Alexander McQueen black pencil dress teamed with frisky leopard print Jimmy Choo peep-toes. Talk about frisky, ferocious fashionista Rihanna shaved her head causing more "disturbia" in the world of hip-hop style (even more so than her sheer top and jailbird striped bra).
In Italy, Eva Mendes stepped out at the Giffoni Film Festival in a pleated bodice maxi-dress accessorizing with mix matched bangles and heavy duty Stuart Weitzman espadrilles. Faboo!

Hunky actor Gerard Butler announced on late night television his plans to wed Jennifer Aniston next week.
Really?
Butler -- who's shooting shooting The Bounty with Aniston in New York -- cleared the air with Conan O'Brien on The Tonight Show Thursday night when Conan pried into his rumored relationship with Brad Pitt's ex.
"Yeah, we're very much in love and especially her. We're actually going to tie the knot next Tuesday or Wednesday or Thursday ...one of those days" Butler joked.
