An escalating war of words between The Tonight Show host Conan O'Brien and actress Kirstie Alley might have simmered down Wednesday, as O'Brien pledged to never joke about the actresses' weight issues again, saying he will insert the name of portly Peru leader Alan Garcia Perez in place of he Cheers alum.

Academy Award winning actor and Grammy Award winning singer Jamie Foxx is the latest celebrity to hit the internet with a nude picture but this A-lister is not shying away from the scandal.
On Monday night's Tonight Show, Conan O'Brien cleared the air over the leaked internet photo with the Law Abiding Citizen star. When asked if the naked picture is really him, Foxx admitted "it is me" but before he could explain how it was leaked, Conan congratulated the star and shook his hand. Foxx pretended to be bashful (yeah, right!).

If you were wondering why The Tonight Show aired a repeat episode Friday night, it was all because the show's star Conan O'Brien was in the hospital.

The late night host took a very nasty fall down a flight of stairs while rehearsing for a skit Friday afternoon. Conan was rushed by ambulance to a nearby hospital for a thorough check-out.

Conan questioned Piers on his reason for the revelation after Simon helped bring the former Daily Mirror editor to fame.

On The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien Wednesday night, Miller explained her clumsy nature during the shoot for G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra. On the first day of shooting, the actress who went brunette for the role of the Baroness slipped on a rubber bullet and taken to the hospital for an injury to her hand.

The battle of the late night giants is on… and it ain’t pretty folks! It seemed as if David Letterman was going to feel the heat when younger, hipper Conan O’Brien took over Late Show competitor, the Tonight Show, especially when Conan’s first couple of weeks dominated with a younger audience. But all that seems to be (strangely) slipping away. The past few weeks Letterman has given Conan an outright old school beating by nabbing all the hot guests and leaving O’brien with some pretty slim pickins. Case in point, this week’s lineup.

Conan O'Brien -- new host of The Tonight Show -- paid tribute Tuesday night to Ed McMahon, the legendary 'second banana' to former Tonight Show host Johnny Carson.
Saying "this is obviously a very sad day without Ed", O’ Brien, the fourth in the line of Tonight Show hosts, dedicated a big portion of his monologue to McMahon, who died Tuesday at the age of 86.

Longtime Johnny Carson sidekick Ed McMahon, renown for his iconic catch phrase "Here's Johnny," has passed away in Los Angeles at the age of 86.

McMahon's publicist Howard Bragman says the legendary entertainer died peacefully at the Ronald Reagan/UCLA Medical Center shortly after midnight Tuesday.
McMahon's legacy is defined by his stint on the Tonight Show, where he roared his trademark cackles for three decades, leaving the show following Johnny Carson's 1992 retirement. Carson passed away in 2005 at the age of 79.
Letterman Close To Signing New 3-Year Deal

David Letterman is near a deal to continue reading Top 10 lists on CBS for another three years. The network is about to re-sign the Emmy-winning talk-show host to continue hosting Late Show until 2011-12, sources said. The agreement will represent a two-year extension on his current contract, which expires in 2010.
The decision to lock Letterman in for a longer period comes as rival NBC makes dramatic changes to its late-night lineup, moving Jay Leno to 10 p.m. in the fall and the naming of Conan O'Brien as the new host of the legendary Tonight Show. During his first week on Tonight, O'Brien beat Letterman in the ratings, though the gap between the shows shrunk as the week progressed.

Gwyneth Paltrow, appearing on the Tonight Show Thursday night to promote her Web site, Goop.com, showed Conan O'Brien a few exercises to help his self-described body issue of having "no butt."
The Iron Man 2 starlet assisted the new Tonight Show host in an exercise in which he stepped on and off a chair, presumable to build up those glutes. We'll see if Conan heeded the A-lister's advice as we check out his rear end while we compare him to Jay and Johnny over the next few months.

Joining a very exclusive show biz fraternity, Conan O'Brien takes the helm as the fifth-ever host of the Tonight Show Monday, following in the footsteps of Steve Allen, Jack Paar, Johnny Carson and Jay Leno.
O'Brien -- who Jay Leno featured as his last official guest -- kicks off his reign with A-list funnyman Will Ferrell and 90s grunge pioneers Pearl Jam.
He told the Toronto Star of some sage advice he received from one of his esteemed predecessors.
"Basically, all anyone who knows anything about these shows can tell you is that you've got to do it your way. That's actually the oldest advice I've ever had – I got it from Johnny Carson, years ago, when I first met him. He basically told me, 'Just be yourself,'" he said. "These shows are such an extension of the host. I think the reason Jay's show worked so well is that he did it his way. And Johnny Carson did it his way, which was quite different from Jack Paar, who did it his way, which was really different from Steve Allen, who did it his way."
