With eight nods apiece, The Hunger Games and Bridesmaids top the nominations for this year's MTV Movie Awards, which were announced Tuesday.

Other films nominated include Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 with six nods; The Help with four; and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 with two.

The Hunger Games has done what no movie since Avatar has accomplished -- been at the top of the box office heap four consecutive weeks.

The flick is estimated to have taken in another $21.7 million in ticket sales this weekend, besting the new The Three Stooges, which will tally $17.1 million.
