Howard Stern Makes 7-Year-Old Cry On America’s Got Talent

The phrase "Howard Stern's soft side" would have been an oxymoron at one time, but sure enough, the sometimes acid-tongued shock jock came off as gentle and sensitive during Monday's edition of NBC's America's Got Talent, when he consoled a weeping 7-year-old contestant named Mir Money.
After the King of All Media buzzed the adorable West Philadelphia tot rapper off, the boy began weeping and the Private Parts star sprung to action, getting onstage and reassuring the lad he's already a winner for having the guts to perform.
"You're a terrific young man -- you are so brave," the radio legend said. "This job is too rough for me, I don't really wanna do it anymore."

The 58-year-old Sirius lynchpin then told host Nick Cannon, "I'm not cut out for this, man. I'm not cut out for it. I'm shaking man, I'm shaking. I can't do it, man. I can't do it."
America's Got Talent airs on NBC Mondays at 8/7c and Tuesdays at 9/8c.

Howard Stern made his highly-anticipated debut on NBC's America's Got Talent's seventh season premiere Monday night, and he showed his charming, articulate side to a mainstream audience that might associate him with potty humor, strippers and sideshow freaks.
In weeks leading up to the premiere, the Parents Television Council called for a boycott on the show's advertisers based on Howard's "decades-long penchant for profanity" and assumption he'd "conduct himself in precisely the same manner as he has done for decades."
On Monday, his conduct was just fine, as the Private Parts star showed he was ready very serious about evaluating the country's hopefuls, and not doing a prime-time version of his randy radio program.

Two radio giants, Howard Stern and Ryan Seacrest, crossed paths in a simulcast in advance of Stern's widely-anticipated debut on NBC's America's Got Talent Monday night.
The Private Parts star, who's replacing former judge Piers Morgan on the summer talent show, addressed his unending ribbing of Seacrest throughout the last decade, explaining he "used to question Ryan's sexuality" because of the stories he'd hear about Ryan going out with a myriad of ladies, but not always having sex with them.
"And these are really hot women!" Howard said.
In speaking about the show, Howard said he's "not gonna do The Howard Stern Show there" as he's "part of an ensemble" cast.
Still, you can't take the King of All Media too far off his throne when it comes to his colleagues on the dais, Sharon Osbourne and Howie Mandel.

Howard Stern hugged and kissed Matt Lauer at the end of a hilarious interview on Thursday’s Today show as the King of All Media talked about replacing former judge Piers Morgan on NBC’s America’s Got Talent.
The Private Parts star said it's "very silly" people are already making predictions he'll be bringing a lewd and crude schtick to primetime.
"Why don't you tune in Monday night and see how I am as a judge?" he said. "I think what you'll find is that we have a panel that, unlike these other judging shows -- I watch American Idol sometimes, and those three judges, they don't have a word of criticism. And I think that's selfish: I think you owe it to the contestants to offer criticism."
Howard said he's gotten a bad rap from critics who think he'll unleash his verbal arsenal on contestants.
