He suspects that his grandmother may have had white ancestry—so he travels to Alabama and Virginia to find out. His emotional reaction to the shocking revelations is not to be missed. In fact, executive producer Lisa Kudrow even said that Emmit’s story is one of the most compelling on a recent appearance on The Today Show!

If you’re wondering why the TV listings are looking a little lean tonight, well it’s because the Winter Olympics kick off and who’s going to want to compete with that? The games are taking place in Vancouver and the opening ceremony is full of tradition. Live from Vancouver’s BC Palace, the event honors the customs of Canada as well as the parade of nations (more than 2500 athletes from 85 nations are expected to appear), the athlete’s oath and the lighting of the Olympic cauldron. Oh and what about the events? Don’t worry—tonight things get going with ski jumping!

Gordon Ramsey—our favorite curmudgeon of a chef is back with a new season of Kitchen Nightmares. He’s whipping one restaurant across the country into shape at a time. The first stop is Philadelphia’s Hot Potato Café. The owners have a negative attitude and of course Gordon has zero tolerance for that!
