Mischa Barton's The Beautiful Life Gets Revived

Mischa Barton hasn't had much to cheer about lately but it looks like the troubled actress is getting a break. Her CW series, The Beautiful Life, cancelled after just two episodes, is reportedly being brought back.

The Ashton Kutcher-produced series about the fast-paced New York modeling world isn't going back into production but the remainder of the episodes already in the can will be broacast later in the season.
Mischa had a stunning break-down just before reporting to her set last summer and ended up being taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles for psychiatric evaluation.

Mischa Barton had a real scare on Halloween night but it was a good thing her friends were there to back her up. RadarOnline.com has learned that the actress was the subject of a rude reveler who was quickly put into his place by her protective pals.

Dressed as a peacock, the former OC star was getting beverages for her group at New York's The Park Bar in Chelsea when a partygoer threw a drink on her.
"I was standing beside this guy at the bar when Barton went past us carrying two drinks," an onlooker told RadarOnline.com. "The next thing I knew he threw his drink over her back and she turned around and asked him: "Did you just throw a drink over me?" The man responded that the drink was in retaliation for Barton stepping on his shoe.

Barton returned to her table (supposedly after she gave the guy a taste of his own medicine and "threw one of her drinks" in his face) and told her friends of the incident. One especially incensed pal went up to the drink thrower. Within a few minutes one of her male friends came over to confront the guy and asked him to step-outside. Barton's friend left but then he kept coming back every few minutes to complain." Allegedly, things heated up from there and the two men ended up fighting one another on the dance floor before two bouncers came over and ejected the instigator from the club.
The original drink thrower didn't go unscathed leaving with "a gash to his head and his knee was all cut up." And of course a shoe stepped on by a Hollywood actress.
A rep for the actress had no comment.

After only two episodes, the CW has cancelled The Beautiful Life. As of Friday, production on the seventh episode was shut down and there are no plans to air any new installments.
Mischa opens up about her meltdown
The show was produced by Ashton Kutcher and stars Mischa Barton in a plot line similar to the star’s personal life including a mysterious hospital stay and a potential career comeback. Unfortunately, Wednesday’s episode was only watched by one million viewers.
Mischa bounces back in New York
CW may replace the now-empty slot with a repeat of the Melrose Place which airs on Tuesdays- something it did with 90210 last year.

With her hair scraped back, no make-up and a cigarette hanging from her lips, the 23-year-old looked almost unrecognizable.

A midsummer incident in which actress Mischa Barton was placed under an involuntarily psychiatric hold was "blown out of proportion," Barton told the ladies of The View on Friday.

Barton said, in a husky tone, that she was "overwhelmed" after a botched operation in which she had four wisdom teeth pulled left her in "excruciating pain." She said the "chronic pain" associated with her poorly-repaired mouth led to treatments including painkillers and at one point, a daily dosage of Novocain. She said that subsequent miscommunication with hospital staffers, as she was suffering from the pain, led to the psychiatric hold.
Barton carried herself with an air on confidence to the concerned panel, telling them: "I'm such a positive person."
The actress was checked into Los Angeles' Cedars Sinai Medical Center under the involuntarily psychiatric hold July 15 for medical issues; she has a history of substance abuse, having a drunk driving arrest and rehab stint under her belt in the past two years.
The Beautiful Life is slated to premiere September 16 at 9/8c on the CW.

The star of the new CW series, A Beautiful Life, was spotted in Manhattan Friday in what can only be described as a drum major's jacket. We didn't see a marching band following her - just the usual photographers - who dutifully fell in line to capture their shots.
Mischa is continuing her recovery from a breakdown that had her hospitalized on a mental health hold last July.

Poor Mischa Barton.
The fragile actress slipped on the set of The Beautiful Life in New York the other day as she tried to casually exit her trailer. Fortunately, she quickly regained her footing and wasn’t hurt.
