Drink Like The Diddy This Holiday Season!!

HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE:
Eggnog is so passé: This holiday season, make your friends and loved ones happy with the most high-end French vodka on the market right now, CIROC.
The vodka brand, which Sean "Diddy" Combs is a part-owner of, is made from carefully-selected Mauzac Blanc and Ugni Blanc grapes, grown high in the Gaillac region of France, that produce a wine using cold fermentation. It is then distilled five times to produce an exquisite, smooth taste.
The hip-hop icon recycled an 80s marketing trick to show the value of his brand: The blindfolded taste test.
“We’re doing the Diddy CIROC Challenge,” Combs told the Las Vegas Sun. “It’s like the Pepsi Challenge.”
Combs said that the CIROC brand outperformed Belvedere, Grey Goose and Absolut vodkas at an 80 percent rate, "which is just phenomenal -- even we didn’t think it was going to be that high.”
This holiday season, some delicious, and seasonal, cocktail recipes have been concocted for CIROC, as well as gift packages that will bring smiles to the recipients' faces.

IT’S A BIRD! IT’S A PLANE! NO—IT’S THE PHYSICS OF SUPERHEROES—A MUST READ!
Posted on Nov 05, 2009 @ 06:00PM - Add a comment

Have you ever been around super comic book fans that start debating such uber important matters like—who’s faster, The Flash or Superman—and you just know that Superman is the one with a cape? Or does your boyfriend start a count down for the release of X-Men movies and all you know is that you’ll probably get to see Hugh Jackman shirtless? Have no fear—we have the perfect reading material that will impress all the comic book and superhero fanatics in your life.
Check out The Physics Of Superheroes: The Spectacular Second Edition by James Kakalios. Since 1988, Dr. Kakalios has taught the popular freshman seminar, “Everything I Needed To Know About Physics I Learned From Reading Comic Books” at the University of Minnesota. We know, Physics is not exactly the sexiest topic out there but trust us, Dr. Kakalios makes it fun by shedding light on the cool ways science and comic books have banded together. He answers questions like—Why did Spiderman’s webbing fail him when he tried to save his girlfriend Gwen Stacy? Or, does the Fantastic Four’s Invisible Woman go blind when she becomes transparent? After all, light does pass through her and her invisible eyes. He also explains where comic books got science horribly wrong. For example, Giant Man would probably break his legs just by standing up!
You can check out more at PhysicsofSuperheroes.com but we really suggest you pick up a copy and curl up on the couch with it this weekend. After all, the new Iron Man and Green Hornet movies are coming soon—imagine the way you’ll impress your friends by dissecting the scientific accuracy of the films! Or you can buy this as a gift for the comic book lover in your life—and score major points!

NY’s Last Rites Tattoo Theatre Hosts Halloween Event
Posted on Oct 29, 2009 @ 02:44PM - Add a comment

If Manhattan's Last Rites Tattoo Theatre is the Sistine Chapel of body ink, Paul Booth would be Michelangelo.
Booth, crowned "The New King of Rock Tattoos" by Rolling Stone Magazine, an artist so accomplished, tattoo aficionados have spent months, weeks, even years on waiting lists to get themselves adorned with his work, which is prominently displayed by speed metal stalwarts Slipknot, Mudvayne, Slayer, Pantera, Soulfly and Sepultura.
Come Saturday, the wait list is suspended: In accordance with their first-ever Creep-In Day, the theatre is offering a super-scarce opportunity to be tattooed spontaneously without an appointment by Booth, or any of the studio's talented tattoo artists, lauded amongst the industry as the best in the business.
“We want to show our fans our true appreciation for their support, by allowing them the opportunity to avoid the waiting list… and get tattooed convention style," Booth said. "I have been spending quite a bit of time here at home, focusing on my larger projects and I find myself occasionally missing the road. Now I can sort of go on tour without leaving home and get a good dose of that convention energy I have come to know so well ... this is why I want to make it a meet and greet day as well.”
The event, free to all, with costumes being optional, takes place Saturday, Oct. 31, from 12 p.m. until 12 a.m. at Last Rites Tattoo Theatre, located at 511 W. 33rd Street, between 10th & 11th Avenues (3 blocks from Penn Station), 3rd floor, New York, NY 10001.
